How is it that Kairi's heart resided in Sora? This was never really explained in Kingdom Hearts 1....

I believe that Kairi's heart went inside Sora's due to the connection that they shared, and so her heart could be protected from being taken away by the Heartless.

I do not think that that is correct, though. It would be best to wait until Flaming Lea returns.

Remember when she passed right trough his body on the Island?... That's why.

Aqua used protective magic on Kairi that would lead her to the one that would protect her. It is why she ended up at Destiny Islands when Radiant Garden was plunged into darkness and it is why her heart sought refuge within Sora's during KH1. Sora is Kairi's protector by all necessary means.

Yep! Ansem tried to use Kairi to find a keyblade wielder  and threw her out yonder and this was the result. It's been also implied that this spell also is why her heart hid in Sora for protection . I do believe their strong connection was a factor in his too but i think that started originally from that spell.

The "Info Block" staff members disagree. It is unlikely that Kairi's heart going into Sora's was a result of Aqua's magic, but her being drawn to Riku (not Sora, because he was not originally the future Keyblade wielder) after being sent away from Radiant Garden was.

But since the keyblade did go to Sora that's kinda moot. Her 'light' was drawn to Riku and Sora's light just like it was said "Aqua: �Someday your light will lead you to a light that will protect you from the darkness.�". When DI fell, Riku fell into darkness and was no longer necessarily that light anymore at that given time .Kairi has a connection to both of them but she chose to hide in Sora- the light that would protect her just like the keyblade chose Sora bc Riku fell to darkness.. Also , the info block members are just fans discussing the series like the rest of us .

Agreed, Riku fell into darkness so the Keyblade chose the next best person for the job...Sora.....It's kinda like Sora got all of the heavy stuff Riku was suppose to inherit....
