1. A user on KH13 discovered a security flaw with the new chat where it was possible to 'pretend' to be another user, monitor their chats, and even send chats as them... yeah, oops. We've patched the issue and notified ArrowChat, so hopefully they fix the issue in their software. We don't think this flaw was abused at all, but we thought it was better to let you know anyway. If chat starts acting funny, it's because of the patch I made, but it's the best I can do until ArrowChat come out with an official fix. Anyway, the security issue is now gone.

 

2. Previously, there was a daily backup at 6am USA EST, and this backup caused KH13 to go offline for over 10 minutes at a time, every day. We've changed this so that the backup now occurs in the background rather than causing the site to go offline-- no more daily downtime! The website may be a little bit slower at this time, however.

Just to be clear, regarding the 1st issue: I applied my own fix, and now it's 100% impossible to view other's chats.

That's nice to hear, but I should probably mention that multple users including myself have had issues with the site crashing repeatedly and generally being glitchy for all of today. Might have something to do with the changes you made.

Hmm... Interesting. Good to hear about no more downtime!

Fool. I felt like that downtime was a bit of freedom for me. Like how in Matrix 3 where Trinity saw the real sky for a moment. That's what it was to me. But now you had to and make the site work better. Thanks a lot.
