The snake in resident evil 1 instantly came to mind for me. Do you guys remember any epic battles like this?

Epic battles where I can't find the enemy? No.Annoying battles that I spent an hour plus looking for the enemy? Yes.

Amnesia The Dark Descent, you're too terrified to even bother hiding and just kind of freak out...scrambling around like an idiot.

Shadow of the Collosus

I would run away sometimes and lose sight of the enemy, but I could still hear the music

OMFG, yes:

The final battle in Escape From Ravenhearst.

i'm running around like " what? what?"

BAM: dead.

Ico, because even if you didn't see the enemy, it could still kill you

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate. There's been plenty of times where I've been gathering around Moga Woods, when next thing I know, battle music start's playing followed by a monster hungry for my face charging right at me from behind. Definitely makes things more interesting.

Edit: Oh wait, this is a thread for times where you can't find the monster, not where you can't see them when the music starts. Sorry about that.

Spyro Dawn of the Dragons. You're just like "Where the heck is he?! Aww, screw it, I'm moving on!"

What a waste of 20 bucks for a potentially good game.

You hear the music first but the enemy could be over a cliff or somethin
