It is the second day at Beacon, you are on the cliffs with a bunch of strangers...or friends (decide amongst yourselves) and are about to start your very first trial: falling.  Crazy old Ozpin is telling everyone to have a landing strategy.  It is up to you to take the first step.  Begin!

 

 

Ozpin and Glynda's speech:

 

 

Everyone currently stood on the cliffs, standing on some kind of platform.  For some reason, each platform having the school's insignia.  Ozpin and Ms. Goodwitch were standing before them, it was kind of exciting and nerve racking all at the same time.  What were they going to tell the students.

 

"For years you have trained to become warriors," the gray haired man began, as he addressed all the students.  "Today, your abilities will be evaluated in the Emerald Forest.""Now," Glynda continued, "I'm sure many of you have heard rumors about the assignment of teams.  Well, allow us to put an end to your confusion.  Each of you will be given teammates, today.""These teammates will be with you for the rest of your time, here at Beacon.  So it is in your best interest to be paired with someone whom you can work well.  That being said, first person you make eye contact with after landing will be your partner for the next four years."

 

There were an abundant of reactions, ranging from both sides of the spectrum.  It would continue for the rest of the authority figures' speech.  Regardless, Ozpin continued."After you've partnered up, make your way to the northern end of the forest.  You will meet opposition along the way.  Do not hesitate to destroy everything in your path or you will die.  You will be monitored and graded for the duration of the initiation, but our instructors will not intervene.  You will find an abandoned temple at the end of the path containing several relics.  Each pair must choose one and return to the top of the cliff.  You will guard that item, as well as your standing, and we will grade you appropriately.  Are there any questions?"

 

 

 

And with those last couple of words, one by one everyone prepared to be tossed into the air.  Whether anyone responded or not, did not matter.  Ozpin already had a set answer.

 

"Good.  Now, take your positions."For some reason, someone always had a question about the landing strategy and so the gray haired man answered accordingly.

 

"No, you will be falling,"

"Oh great, some guy is asking questions," Haru thought.  "What an idiot."

"No, you will be using your own landing strategy."

 

And with that, everyone was tossed into the air.  Haru, felt very natural in the air, holding his backpack as he flipped and twisted a couple times, somehow avoiding mysteriously placed crows. *cough* Monty *cough*  He decided to try and stay in the air for as long as possible, it seemed fun that way.  He spread his arms in the air, picking up a bountiful of air resistance."This is great!" the white haired boy yelled out, diverting some of the other first years' attention.

 

He looked around to see the possible competition, as well as teammates.

 

"Now which one of you are my future teammates?"

Vyona felt the pain ease up and moved off of the tree. She felt the ground beneath her rumble as she heard something crash to the ground nearby. (Stupid deplay...) She thought to herself as she brought out her staff. She was only a few minutes away from her goal but she wanted to quicken the stroll. A magic circle glowed under her and she was off, dashing forward, mindful of the trees in her way. Within minutes, she reached the edge of the forest and there was an opening. At  that opening, there stood the temple. Vyona looked around to see nobody there. Vyona walked closer to see that there were pillars let up. (Was I suppose to retrieve something here? Ack, I don't remember.) Vyona sat there, tapping at her forehead, trying to jog her memory.

Syfe was flying towards the jungle. He didn't have much time, but he needed to find a way to safely land. He spotted a tree branch that with his current trajectory, he could grab hold of. So Syfe did. He latched onto the branch, and then swung himself to another, where he perched safely. Realizing the advantage being in the treetops would give him, Syfe began to run from tree to tree, passing over many others. He leapt from branch to branch, and skirted around trunks. He readied one of his pistols in his hands, feeling that this would be too easy if he didn't run into anybody. Syfe focused again on his objective. Get to the ruins.

 

(No preference on partners.) 

Haien walked through the forest, intending on both reaching the ruins and finding a partner. So far? Neither objective had been achieved. He was lost and very well alone. At least, he assumed he was. As attentive as Haien was to most situations, he failed to notice several creatures stalking him.

"Well, this is boring." He said, sighing as he flicked his sword, the shape shifting to that of a bow. He turned around, grabbing the string as a pulse of light formed into an arrow. He fired, three arrows springing to life and hitting the Beowulfs that had been following him.

"Bulls-eye, hahah!"

The large bird continued to fly.  Soon it would pass the temple and Alvis would have missed his chance.

"Ooh, there's the temple. Bye bye birdie. I gotta fly."

Alvis jumped off of the bird and used some firepower in order to control his descent. The gusts of wind made the flight slightly turbulent, however.

Alvis was doing alright when he saw something flying toward him from the tornado. The heck is that? Alvis's hands were occupied, so he couldn't have caught it. Using more fire would use up too much Dust, but using less would make him fall faster.

It didn't matter what Alvis would have done, as before he could make a decision the thing hit him square in the chest. They both began to plummet.

Alvis came to and grabbed the object - a staff of some sort. He saw the forest rushing up toward him. Just then he saw a large tree come up. He drove the staff into the trunk, hoping that might help. The staff tore through the trunk like butter, but Alvis could feel himself slowing down slightly. He finally stopped a few meters from the ground.

"Whew, that was too close." He pulled the staff out of the tree, and fell the rest of the distance to the ground.

He slowly got up; he had a few bruises on his back, but nothing too serious. "I guess I could use this thing as a walking stick or something." Alvis took the staff and made his way to the temple.

(No partner preference.)

Sora heard the sounds of battle. She gripped her gunscythe and conrinued forward.

She hadn't seen anyone since the launch.

Where was everyone?"

 

 

The large wave rushed towards the tiny creature and Sora.  Bye bye, cute little pet.  Hello large current.  On the artificially moved water was a girl and the shark-like creatures of grim.  They were on a path to clash.

Syfe was late at landing also.  What was with everyone and their schedules?  A large pack of beowulfs trailed behind someone and were in front of Syfe.  From the looks of it, three of them were pinned on three separate trees with arrows.  The beowulfs notice Syfe and half of them stop and turn around the other half continue to stay behind the amazing shot, Haien.

Haru continued to walk towards the temple, having seen it when he was in the air before.  He just had to make it.  At this moment, any partner would be sufficient.  The pain in his arms continued to surge in random equivalents of time.

 While the large wave was surging through the forest, Aria was fighting the Shark Grims in the wave. The Grims tried to get close to her but Aria commanded the water to keep them at bay. Having no way for the Grims to reach her, she sat back and put her hands behind her head lazily as she enjoyed the ride. Suddenly she saw something small past by her but she ignored it.

Nami stopped on a branch and looked ahead to see that the temple was in sight. She had a rough start trying to land before she caught onto a tree branch and got down unscratched. She crossed paths with a few beowulfs here and there and managed to make it this far. Nami let out a dragging sigh before she hopped down and continued walking to where she saw the edge of the forest. (I haven't seen anyone else yet. Is this really that hard of a mission to complete?)  She thought as she came up to the clearing and saw that a girl was already there before her. Nami tilted her head to the side and walked up her, tapping her on the shoulder. Vyona looked as if she was about to jump out of her skin and pointed her staff towards Nami. "Who do you think you are trying to scare me like that?" she said and Nami just pushed the weapon out of her face. "....yeah, hello to you too. What are you doing standing around here for? Just go take the piece on the one of the pillars and be on your way, unless you were too slow to figure that out." "I just forgot okay. I don't need the likes of you telling me that." she said as she angrily put her staff away and made her way over to one of the pillars. "Nami" "What?" "My name is Nami and if you don't have a name i can always refer to you as hot-head blondie." Vyona just stared at Nami as Nami smiled at her. (Is she mocking me or something?) she thought and sighed. "Vyona." "Good, now we can get along without me having to refer to you by some corny nickname." "Shut up you damn lolita!"

Yuki scurried down from her tree, shooting at the lion creature.

"I did absolutely nothing to attract you!!" She yelled, changing the form of Nekomata.

She ran incredibly fast, and up a tree, facing the creature.

"Leave...me....ALONE!" She yelled, firing two rockets at the creatures eye.

Syfe stopped in his tracks, balanced precariously on a tree branch. Beowolves. Syfe knew he could take care of them easy enough if he was on the ground, but unfortunately, he was stuck up a tree. One lunged at him, and Syfe backflipped, shooting the attacking wolf rapidly, killing it in midair. He landed, and almost fell to the ground. The boy grimaced, morphing his pistols into swords. He ran through the trees, towards one of the wolves. He ducked under a careless claw swipe, and stabbed upwards, impaling the Beowolf. After that, he knocked the dead Grimm beast off his blade with his other, and turned to face the last one. It jumped towards him, and Syfe jumped also, morphing his swords into dualblade form. He spun his weapon, slicing through the Beowolf, killing it. Syfe landed on the ground with a roll. Heian was behind him. Syfe spoke without turning to his new partner. "Guess we have to work together now. Let's go." Syfe began walking without waiting for his new partner to respond.

chase spotted some oen and quickly jumped out of the tree." he stabbed the dagger into the tree and pressed the button before quickly running down the tree in a spiral. " who is that and i'm rather surprised they haven't-" he began thinking before a vulture creature ( i forgot the name sorry) cut his side slightly. chase yanked his dagger from the tree and quickly fell the rest of the way down holding his side. " such pain and joy mixed together and this is why i hate reading your emotions dumb monster" chase yelled charging at the vulture.

Veronica felt like she was flying. It was actually pretty fun. But unfortunately it didn't last for long. As she approached the forest, she held her hammer out to the side. It caught on a tree, and using the momentum she swung around and projected herself toward another tree. She repeated this until she got to the ground. 

"Now, to find this temple." She slung the hammer over her shoulder and proceeded.

She didn't get far when she heard a commotion. She looked around and spotted another student falling from a tree and battling a Creature of Grimm -- it seemed to be vulture-like in its appearance.

"Hm. There's something you don't see everyday," she said to herself, watching from a distance.

chase stabbed hte bird like creature in the eye and jumped on it's head clawing at it. " i hate reading your emotions since you seem to like hurting people but also hate it... MAKE UP YOUR FREAKING MIND" chase screamed. he hissed as the bird started to hover higher. he grabbed his blade and started stabbing at random point sin the head before falling off.he landed next to veronica and almost fainted at the sight of a person. " uh hello i'm chase cheslin" he said.

She looked up to see the vulture flying away.

She then remembered Ozpin's words. 

So this guy's my partner, huh, she thought. Well, I guess it could be worse.

"Um... I guess we should head toward the temple. Let's go." She started off in what she believed to be the right direction.

chase got up quickly and ran after her. " hey your a bunny check cool i'm a cat" he said slipping of his stupid hat. he smiled at her and pressed the button on the hilt of his weapon again before slipping it into the case. " so veronica i heard the thinsg we must grab might be chess pieces if so which one do you want to get" he asked curoiusly. he frowned and put his hat back on slightly happy the feelings that were screaming in his head calmed down. " hey do you have a power if so can you control it" chase asked.

 

Hm. He's a Faunus too. That gave them something in common.... Perhaps Chase could relate to her.

Responding to the question, Veronica said, "I don't really think it matters. Let's just get there first."

"Do you have a power?" Chase asked.

"Yeah," she said. "I can control the earth." She demonstrated by raising a part of the earth, creating a little platform.

Veronica hesitated. "What can you do?"

Chase sighed and took his hat off again. He instantly got a headache and groaned. " I can read animals emotions along with those monsters" Chase said trying to cover his ears. Chase closed his eyes and grit his teeth at the headache forgetting he had the hat in his hands still.He started mumbling a few things which were emotions that he was hearing in his head." it's all joy and pain Veronica... thats all they feel" He said.

Chase sighed and took his hat off again. He instantly got a headache and groaned. " I can read animals emotions along with those monsters" Chase said trying to cover his ears. "That's.... quite interesting," Veronica said. It must be hard if he can't control it just yet. This guy is pretty strong if he can withstand it.

"Let's just hope we don't run into anything along the way," Veronica said, trying to assure her partner.

Sora looked up at the wave. Great.

Sighing, the maid-girl used her semblence, Albion, and sped away, easily keeping ahead of the tidal wave. The poor Grimm was gone, but whatever.

She was currently focusing on getting away alive right now.

 

Water and fox does not really mix.

Veronica there's a pill case in my jacket pocket please get it for me" Chase said unable to move his arms from his ears.He groaned again and started lightly hissing under his breath. " Quickly please" Chase said quietly and scardly.

Alvis was making his way toward the temple when he spotted a boy with white hair. That guy looks kinda familiar....

He kept his head down, so he wouldn't make any unnecessary eye contact, and continued on, trying not to bring attention to himself.

Chase smiled gratefully at this and slowly started moving his arms. Soon he got up and grabbed his hat, slipping it on. "  Thanks.The pill quiets the voices" Chase said happily. Grabbing his dagger he started walking tail swaying happily. The pills also made him really happy which to him was the bad part. Chase looked at Veronica and smiled more. "Tell me more abotu yourself please" Chase said studying her symbol.

 Aria spotted Sora running away from her wave as she thought, 'Welp I just saw her, I guess she's my partner then.' Deciding to greet her fellow partner, she willed the wave to flatten out on the ground freeing the Shark Grims and herself. Completely ignoring the Grims, Aria landed next to Sora with her usual grin on her face. "Hey, I'm Aria. I guess we're partners now!" Looking at Sora's visual features, she questioned in her mind why she was wearing a maid costume but the weapon she was holding restrain Aria from asking.
