One major similarity between FFXIII and the Hunger Games

Posted

Am I the only one who has noticed this, or have you all also noticed how very much Lightning is like Katniss from The Hunger Games?  First off, there's the hairstyle, not to mention both characters look very much alike (even some of their expressions are similar!).  Their personalities are also pretty similar: their harsh exterior, but kindness deep within.  Both are fighting as rebels against a world power, and, finally, both are after a common goal: to save their little sisters.

I just sat down and thought about it the other day, and it gave me a good laugh.  Whether it's entirely coincidental, I don't know, but I thought it was very interesting nonetheless.

You should finish XIII-2. :P

I'm getting there! ; )  I'm probably, hmm . . . perhaps halfway through it or so.  Why, does Lightning change drastically and no longer is like Katniss?

XIII: Soldier

XIII-2: Goddess Warrior

LIGHTNING RETURNS: Jesus

At first I was going to agree with you... Then there is the whole part where Lightning is a goddess warrior, can summon Odin to her command, and becomes the savior in Lightning returns. Now I'm just shrugging it off, but it's not a bad comparison by any means.
