Sword Art Online: Another Log-In (Roleplay Thread)

Keimei looked around at the crowd in the center plaza of the Starting Town. "Why was I just taken here...?" She asked aloud. She'd only been playing for a couple hours, and had decided to get into the combat system before finding anyone to team up with. She looked around the crowd, noticing a lot of other people were also teleporting there. Suddenly, the sky above her turned blood red. A cloaked figure appeared over the square, and hovered there.

"Hello everyone, and welcome to SAO." A voice boomed over the crowd. "You're likely wondering who I am... My true identity will remain secret. However, I will tell you this; I have hacked into SAO. Some of you may have noticed that there isn't a log-out button... That's because I've removed the option to log out. I've trapped you all in the game..." He paused, as the crowd was dead silent. He eventually continued. "Why have I done this? Simple. I've wanted a world of my liking. In this world, I've surpassed even the game's creator, Kayaba Akihiko. Here, I control you all... Unless, of course, you can clear all 100 floors. However, that's impossible..." He cackled. "Also, to warn you... If you die in the world of SAO, the NerveGear will fry your brain in the real world, killing you in both. If anyone attempts to remove your NerveGear, you will also die. Now then, before I leave, I have a gift for you..." Suddenly, a mirror appeared in Keimei's inventory. She used it, out of curiosity. There was a sudden flash of light, and she shut her eyes...

When she opened her eyes, she felt different. She looked into the mirror... That's... my real face in the mirror... She looked in horror. Aside from her hair color, which was the same shade of red that she'd made it in-game, she looked exactly like she did in real life.

"Now then... With this, I must leave. Good luck in Aincrad... You'll need it." A maniacal laughter echoed along the buildings, as the figure disappeared.

After the echoes, there was silence. After what felt like ages, people began rioting. "We're doomed!" "I can't be trapped in the game, I've got a meeting in an hour!" "That had to all be some sick joke!" Keimei looked around in confusion. She didn't know what to do. She looked around frantically.

I have to get out... The only way to do that is to fight, and I'll need partners... Man, I really wish my friends had been able to get the game so I wouldn't be alone in this. She dashed through town, weaving her way through the crowd and into the streets. She tried to look around for someone, anyone who was also rushing to go fight.

"Yeah." Abisk replied, finding Lock and Black's rooms, he knocked on their doors and alerted then to the waking up of the group.

Black got himself asleep all what he could after all, those days were just a crazy mess and stuff.... he woke up early, working on some potion craft, when someone knocked the door. he walked and opened the door, seeing Abisk was already up. "Morning. So what´s up? Time to move again?" he asked.

"Yeah. We're heading to the boss dungeon, but its a long, dangerous treck, and no towns in-between means we need all the sun we can get."

Ryonne popped into Sikiro's room for a moment. Seeing him awake, Ryonne smirked for just a moment. "Did she get you too?" His voice was slow and casual, much like he had just woken up. That was probably because he had. "In any case, I suppose I'll join our new companion downstairs. I'd hurry along before she eats all the food too." Ryonne joked. He had found that Sikiro was one of very few people he could do that with anymore. Ryonne had found an ally in Sikiro, and they had been friends in game as long as anybody else had. Hopefully, it would remain that way.

"Alright then" Black replied as he saved his stuff again. Then he walked outside to the hallway in the Inn, he could hear other voices, maybe from the other members. "We are almost like a guild ... mmm the boss leader..... what could it be?" he said in low voice as he walked to the lobby.

Lock woke up when he heard the knock at the door. He yawned, equipped his gear, and left his room. Meanwhile, he walked over to Abisk and Black, who were talking about making the journey to the boss's lair. "Hmm, sounds like a good idea to me." Lock said to the two of them, the sooner we get to the next level, the better. But first, can we stop by the item shop? Unlike you two, I've yet to obtain a new weapon since the game started."

Sikiro sighed. It was his turn to pay for the meals for the group. He was going to take a huge blow to the wallet today.

"Poor wallet." Sikiro mumbled, pausing for the moment to check how much money he actually did have. Not a lot, but it would at least pay for a rather outrageous food bill. "Alright, well, lets get going before she actually does." Sikiro said, moving out from his room and down to where Mes was waiting.

"Of course, we need to stock up first, get new equipment, etcetera." Abisk answered.

(Mine is when we get more posts. ._.)

As Sikiro and Ryonne made their way down the stairs, Mes laid out all the food she had bought onto the table. She spotted her new companions, and a bright grin formed easily. She waved them over. "I got us all this feast! My treat!" She said cheerily. Ryonne took a seat, and grumbled.

"Thanks I guess...." He traced his eyes along all of the courses she had bought for the group. It was a lot... and he meant it when he said a lot. How rich was this girl anyways? Mes took a seat on the other side of the table, and piled some meat and eggs onto her plate. The girl glanced up to Ryonne.

"Well? Eat!" She said encouragingly.

Sikiro sat himself next to Ryonne, eying both the food and the girl sitting across from them.

"Yeesh...how'd you pay for all this.." Sikiro murmured, grabbing a fork and immediately digging in. The food -even being virtual nothingness- 'tasted' delicious; much better than the bland biscuits most newbies obtained from the early requests.

"Well thanks, Mes." Sikiro said through bites, "Ish delicious.."

A rather decent sized trey of a variety of food was delivered to the table where Ryonne, Sikiro, and others sat. The trey of food was not ordered nor payed for by any of the party's members. Hidden around the corner of the very same inn, unbenouced to the party was a figure who watched them from the shadows. He was quiet and clearly put a lot of time into his hiding skill. But still his level remained around 9 as he didn't deal in many non-town related disputes. Recently the figure had taken an interest in the party, hearing them speak of the boss gate and how they were going to beat the boss made him think that following their moves would benefit him greatly. So he decided to do a bit of offering from the sidelines before confronting them. He shifted so he was basically out of sight. "Not yet. Its too soon" he whispered to himself.

Blushing again, Aether rolled a bit closer and closed her eyes, also falling asleep from exhaustion.

In the morning, Aether received a PM. The sender's name was listed as simply "anonymous". The message read:

"The boss dungeon has been found. Arrive no later than noon, two days from now. We'll fight the boss then." The PM included an item: a map of the first floor, with a large "X" going through the boss dungeon.

(Also, I just asked Wolf on Skype. She said she's dropping out, and that you can take her character if you want to.)

Sitting up, Aether looked at the message, yawning. Reading the message, she shook Wolf awake.

"Hey...they found the boss room. We need to get ready."

Wolf nodded and sat up. They turned their backs to each other and changed, and both stood.

"Thanks...Wolf..." She said softly. Wolf smiled. "No problem."

The two hurried out, Aether leading.

"You sure this is legit?" Wolf asked, keeping up.

"If it isn't, I'm a beta tester; we'll be ok." she said, gripping her Anneal Blade. Wishing she could dual wield, she'd have to stick to one-handed attacks.

"Of course, we need to stock up first, get new equipment, etcetera." Abisk answered.

"Right then, I'll meet you guys at the nearby equipment shop." Lock said, and left the group. When he made it to the shop, he began browsing the shop's rather limited selection of hammers. [Hmm... maybe it was a mistake to become a hammer wielder.] Lock thought, before a black and silver hammer caught his eye. It was fairly strong, and right in his price range. [That'll definitely work.], he thought, and purchased the hammer. He then began waiting for the rest of his group to arrive.

Derik gave a nod, signifying that he understood. Once everyone else was up he planned to tell them where to go.

(*Walks in, fire exploding behind her* GUESS WHO'S BACK?!)

Aurora smirked, taking out her Elucidator sword from behind the straps on her back. She walked ahead of Aether and looked back at her, smiling.

"I'm a beta-tester too ya know, but only in secret." She smirked and winked.

(Wolfie said she was gonna edit in the morning)

Aether blinked, then kept up.

"Next you'll say you're bi-curious and into antisocial bitches." Aether said back, slightly grinning.

(WE NEED TO GET THIS GOING AGAIN)

Derik gave a nod, signifying that he understood. Once everyone else was up he planned to tell them where to go.

Kei sighed. "So, who all are we waiting for now, anyway...?" She asked Abisk. "What's taking them so long, anyway?" She sighed. She noticed a new PM, and opened it up:

Attention Players:

Recently, a strange virus seems to be going around the world of Sword Art Online. It seems as though those who are infected go offline temporarily. Their bodies are still there, and they are still alive, but they are unable to move or interact with others in the game. It wears off after a while, but we do not know what the amount of time it takes to wear off is. We do not know what has caused this, but we want to warn every player to be careful. This virus could lead to disastrous effects out on the fields.

"Hm... I wonder if that virus hit the others...?" Kei was concerned for their party members. "Maybe if they take too long to come out here, we should PM them to let them know that we're moving on, and tell them to meet us?" She asked Abisk, not wanting to get too far behind.

(The virus is to explain characters who are inactive, that way it's not just random)

"Sounds like a good a plan as any." Abisk replied, looking around. Hopefully most, if not all of their group was OK.

Aether finally arrived, nearly running over Kei and Absik.

"Okay so I'm FINALLY here." She panted. "You have ajy idea how hard it is to drag Wolf here?" She motioned to the currently virus infected companion beside her. "Am I too late?"

(Forgot where evryone was so im winging it)

(Don't worry same here lol)"Aether, we just received a PM, some players are unable to move due to a virus, she will need to stay here until she awakens and we can get her, or until the next floor clears." Abisk informed.
