This was brought up while talking to Dawny.This has nothing to deal with personal opinions, but near facts. Riku shows us, more than any other character, that imperfections are perfect. Fear equals knowledge. If you fear something, then you have the knowledge of a danger present. Doesn't mean you can or cannot face it, it just means you shouldn't feel bad for being scared.Don't feel bad for being yourself. Of course, we all have these days when we feel down because we aren't perfect, even Riku. However, he made his imperfections uniquely his own, as yours are uniquely your own. Don't feel bad for making bad decisions. If you hadn't made those in the first place, you wouldn't have learned, nor would you be the person you are now.Riku used his "imperfections" to help people, and make the universe a better place to live. Riku made many bad decisions, but he's learned from each mistake and used them to become a better person and someone worth being. My point:Don't feel bad for being yourself. Be you a cute-lover, an Anime fanatic, or a gamer, you are who you are, and people love you for that.Don't let yourself down by bad decisions. Each mistake builds your knowledge, and helps you become a better person.

Riku has a fantastic arc as a character, with some of the best development I've seen in a character. Both in the context of the series and in real life, he's really the guy to beat.

 

He went from being a cocky arrogant dude in the first game who took the easy option from the start and sold Sora out. But he paid for his actions, and he spent the next year of his life repenting from it, and wound up having to set himself farther back to help the same friend he sold down the river. But then with the help of his friends, he overcame those inner demons, and in the end he got the payment he deserved.

 

You can learn a lot from Riku, and I don't see anything wrong with looking up to him as role model.
