Nintendo have announced Pokemon X and Pokemon Y for the Nintendo 3DS. They will both be released worldwide on October 12, 2013.

 

Anyone else think Chespin is SCREWED? Unless they add gyms that Grass types are strong against, or have more than one evil team, there's almost no reason to get Chespin.

People say the same about Chikorita, who knows chespin might surprise us with some crazy move pool

Chespin isn't screwed because the evil team is a Fire type. With Chespin being rumoured to be Grass/Dark it's main threat is Bug type moves. If Chespin is good stat-wise and has a variety of moves, whether the moves do neutral or super effective damage against Fire types, its going to make Chespin useful anyways. It's not always about type advantage. Besides, theres also something called having other Pokémon in your team, and also the fact that not every Fire type Team Flare uses is going to be a singular type. I mean mind as well not get Fennekin either since she can't do much damage to Fire types at all and vice versa.

Probably not, there's alot we still don't know. Fire types won't be the only teams and I'm sure there will be some gyms Chespin will have an advantage at. I'm going to play it safe and pick Froakie, I have made my mind up and since I always pick water I'm going pick him especially since there's a type advantage over the main team. It also all lays in the hands of the evolutions, we probably figured them all out but there could be some sort of trick their playing on us maybe Chespin will evolve in to Grass/Dark and maybe in his/her final evolution he/she will become Grass/Dark or the opposite. I don't know but I hope the best for all the starters.

EDIT: On top of this, if anyone comes across rumour please post it here. I've seen various rumours and I've known many which are wrong. Especially since there was one that was as big as the one at Pokebeach, but this time it was all false and everyone became sad. If you see a rumour and the person goes by as "IAMTHELEAKER" then its deemed false. The Pokebeach one is still true so far though.

I thought of this yesterday but I never posted it, what if there were some sort of holiday event Orotto it could be a pine tree with snow,  and in spring it could be a Sakura tree. I just realized while I was auto-correcting 'Orotto' that it came from Grotto. Maybe it could be another Foongus case when you think Orotto is a hidden grotto but then you end up fighting it.

The trailer that aired with the movie has now been put on the Nintendo eShop. This trailer showcases the first official picture of the Pokémon Oorotto. It shows that its appearance matches the image we posted two weeks ago. The trailer also reveals that Fennekin knows a move called Glow Punch and showed off a battle in what appears to be underwater. We expect official artwork soon

Or it can just be like every other starter and have a move that has nothing to do with its type. Like Emboar can learn Scald.

It sounds like a Fairy type move but the problem is that most "-punch" moves refer to the elemental punches or more likely physical. I highly doubt Fennekin would go in the Physical route, but its possible. Or she can just have a physical move for the sake of having it.

Clauncher. I see why. You know, X-cross is probably one of it's moves, and somehow it resembles an X, and Skrelp looks long, and tall, like Yveltal, so there's some reasoning to that...

True. Fennekin could go mixed like Blazekien and Infernape. I still find it strange Emboar gets scald, might as well slap every fire type with it. (Hell, even Groudon) Anyways I'm leaning towards mixed, a random useless move, or Fairy typing. (Then again I want Psychic more)
