Then you switch out. Have you not heard that you can use 6 Pokémon? 

 

And it can. It's called Steel Wing. 

That does not change the fact that Talonflame is not as good as several people here are making it seem.

Steel Wing does not have good accuracy, and Talonflame does not receive a same-type-attack-bonus from the attack.

Same can be said about Pidove, except it's literally the same thing as a pigeons with no extra design. Same can be said about other Pokemon that aren't birds.

And so what if they do not get STAB? Not every Pokémon is going to get STAB from moves they need for coverage. This is basic knowledge and its not an excuse. Steel Wing has 90% accuracy which is better than your Pidgeot with Hurricane which has 70% accuracy. It never needs to be perfect 100% accuracy, and 90% is good enough. He is really good due to its hidden ability which is Gale Wings. Also its speed is perfect.

That does not mean that a Rock, Electric or Water-Type attack cannot obliterate it, and because Gale Wings is a Hidden Ability and not its main ability, that makes getting a Talonflame with the ability difficult.

I know plenty about birds, and I can positively say that Pidove does not look exactly like a pigeon. Pidgey does not look like a baby pigeon; baby pigeons are very scruffy-looking, and are not usually brown in colour.

As I have already said, speed is not everything.

 

Speed is everything since if you go first you have a chance of beating the opponent than the guy who goes slow and who has crappy defenses.

 

Hydro Pump and Fire Blast may be stronger but they have a terrible accuracy race in the process. Hurricane is the same story. They have a good chance of missing half the time and having more PP has such little significance on how good the move actually is.

 

Steel Wing does 70 damage and its good enough to hit a Rock Type hard. It has a good accuracy too so it has a likely chance of hitting. 

 

I'm not saying those moves are terrible but I am saying the reasons you are giving to me on why Steel Wing is terrible is pretty much wrong. This isn't an opinion, its a fact.

 

Talonflame can deal with Rock Types with Steel Wing, that was the argument you had before and now its over. Saying "Steel wing isn't good" is actually wrong since it is good and it helps a lot with Pokémon like Talonflame.

Good news is that there's a hack check if you obtained a legitimately or hacked Pokemon by checking the blue pentagon shape. If its not there, it's hacked. inb4unreliable

Pidgeot is sadly outclassed by Staraptor, TalonFlame, even Swellow. Unfezant also sadly is in Pidgeot's situation. I say sadly because their designs are good, but that's all I'd use them for. (Maybe HM slaves, but there's better candidates such as Pelipper, Swanna, etc)

 

Before any abilities, stats, movepool, I thought Talonflame would be even worse than Charizard, when they announced it's mega evos. Then came the following:

 

Gale Wings

BraveBird

Flare Bltiz

Gale Wings

Swords Dance

Roost

Gale Wings

Acrobatics

 

Did I mention Gale Wings? This bird wrecks in-game and competitively. Great design as well.

Okay, so its only slightly useless for the time being. and that is way past complicated for me @-@

Well apparently the pentagon could simply be a flag check if the Pokemon came from a gen 6 cart, for some future tournament Japan is having. This is quite pointless if it turns out true, how hard is it to know what wasn't from Poketransfer when you can see in the same status screen it's location? I mean VGC has done restrictions before, there wasn't any issues remember what wasn't allowed. 

 

I digress. The checker was probably the same old one; checking for legality and not legitimacy.
