I recently saw the E3 trailer for BBS, and it made me think who the secret boss really is. It can't be Xemnas, because Xehanort hadn't lost his heart for a while after the events of BBS. But remember when he locked the heart (we don't know which one) at the end of BBS? Maybe that person had created a Nobody and a Heartless from THAT heart before Ansem SoD/Xemnas was even created. That's my theory, what do you guys think? ***I think the boss was the Nobody of Terra or MX, but most likely Terra***.

Heartless are created when a person loses their heart to the darkness. Nobodies are the body and soul of their Somebody, if this Somebody had a strong heart. Since Terra's body and soul would go on to become Xemnas, this makes it doubtful.

 

Apprentice Xehanort made only one Heartless, so that would imply he had one heart, so all three hearts possibly fused together. Xehanort however, created neither Heartless nor Nobody as he didn't lose his heart to the darkness, but he did leave behind a fixed sentient after he removed his heart.

 

That might be the secret boss -shruggs- Maybe something Eraqus' related since his "death" was rather questionable...

Another thing people are saying is that it is a Lingering Sentiment of Ven because of the reverse grip, idk.

I think so too about him being Ven's Lingering Segment. But he can be a clue to the next game like Terra's Lingering Segment was in KH2 Final Mix when he was a secret boss.

Master Xehanort wasn't consumed by darkness and did create a Heartless. And you need a Heartless to create a Nobody. Unless you're a Princess of Heart though...

 

Also, this battle takes place before Land of Departure is destroyed and MX and Terra hasn't fused yet

They faded away into the darkness probably. Whatever happened, I'm telling you, once again, he doesn't have a Nobody.

It is a speculation that could be true or could be wrong. I don't know who he is, he could be a Nobody, I could be completely wrong, it's a theory. We don't know WHAT he is until Nomura confirms it, but until then I'm going to stick to my theory because that is the only thing that makes sense. Xemnas wasn't created at the time, it's IMPOSSIBLE for it to be physically Terra or MX, the fixed sentiment Xehanort had was created before Aqua got to fight that boss because after Xehanort unlocked his heart, Aqua fell into the RoD. It's the only thing that makes sense in my opinion, I'm not saying I'm right though.

It has to be. Besides those things r like xemnas's blades. they look awsome though.

I believe that it is a non canon fight. It could be the main villain of KH3 (MX, since KH3 concludes the MX saga)

Xemnas wasn't created during the BBS story & the absent silhouette is another possibility, but I think it's some form of a new enemy.

 

 

@ Mudkip The main villain of KH3 is going to be some form of Xehanort, but I don't think they would put him as a secret boss. Then again, look at the KH1 secret boss, and then in KH2 the person turned out to be Xemnas, the last boss. So actually it could be that same situation.

Well the secret boss wears an organization cloak which could represent he is part of organization xiii.And all the members within the organization are nobodies.The secret boss may be a hint to the next game, meaning the boss may be from the future or past because Terra was from 10 years before Kingdom Hearts but he was shown in Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix and Xemnas was in KH2 but he was shown in KH 1 Final Mix meaning that the timeline the secret bosses belong to varies.Xemnas was the leader of organization xiii BUT no one ever said that he was the founder of it.This boss may be the TRUE founder and main bad guy in organization xiii before all the members existed or not existed.We were already shown that Xion was a member of organization xiii probably giving us a hint that the name does not corelate with the amount of members in it to maybe trick us.Also, Ven lost his heart and Vanitas was born.The fact that that person may be Ven's nobody could be likely as well considering the way he holds his weapon.And what is with organization members and dual weapons?
