Discuss Pokémon X and Y's Video Game Championship for 2014!I'm planning to enter this year, it'll be the first time that I've entered in an official tournament (and almost my first tournament, I played in an XY tournament late last year). As for your team it looks really solid,but I think Shedinja might need focus Sash in case it got hit with Super effective attack or a Lum Berry if it got effected by Poison or burn.

 

If you need to test your team you can battle online against competitive battlers like Shofu

The locations for Australia haven't been announced yet, but last year they had one in my city so I'm hopeful!

I personally always put Focus Sash on Smeargle when I sit stage hazards or Baton Pass stat boosts.

 

As for Shedinja,yeah it actually threw me off many times before I made my Sandstorm team.

 

Speaking of Mega Kangaskhan,Didn't Smogon banned Kangaskhan to Ubers???Not sure about the official ban list but I'm curious

I don't think they add in extra bans midway through a VGC season but I could be wrong

I doubt that they would add any extra bans now but they might do for 2015Anyway,do you guys think that something might happen that will add a new clause to the meta game??As far as I know some people say that the sleep clause were added because the Italian champion of VGC 2013 was heavily relying on Spore and sleep status inducing moves...and THANK GOD THEY INTRODUCED THE SLEEP CLAUSE

[/VIDEO]It might not happen but I'm calling that Paralysis clause might be issued this year because believe me,the amount of time that paralysis screwed over my entire team is horrifyingSo many Klefkis,Liepards and Togekisses will be equipped with Thunder Wave and Paralysis hax might end up being the theme of this year's VGC

I haven't made most of my team yet, it's just planned. The only ones that I've finished breeding are Dragonite and Shedinja. Dragonite has perfect IVs (got it on my first try, after breeding two 4IV Dratinis ), and Shedinja has max Attack, 0 Speed (because I want Phantom Force to go last), and the others aren't important due to the way that Shedinja works.

 

Edit: And I'm currently trying to breed my Rotom. It's a bit difficult because it's Genderless, so I can't breed two almost perfect Rotom together to make a perfect one, I have to make do with a Ditto-- plus I need to get a specific combination of IVs which give Hidden Power Ice type. This is the best I've made so far:

 

31/X/14/31/31/31 with HP Ice

 

Still trying for something better though

OK I see yeah actually that's a smart way to use Shedinja. I was just curious if you made use of IVs as some trainers find themselves hopelessly outmatched without utilizing them lol. At any rate you seem like you have a plan good luck.

Don't quote me on that but I'm pretty sure they brought back the Sleep clause as I can't put two or more Pokemon to sleep on Wifi battles...I've tried

Specifically your has Trick. Lock it into TR and they have to switch out, wasting a turn. (They definitely don't want to use TR again just to have it revert back to normal.)

Ohh I see! That's true, but I don't think I know the metagame well enough to have any hope of predicting someone to use TR. I guess experienced players would just avoid using TR against a Rotom, anyway.

Yeah, even I overpredicted that costed me round 4 back in 2010.
