Zelda: A Link Between Worlds director, Hiromasa Shikata, has teased in a recent interview in Game Informer that there’s a possibility that The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask remake could be coming in the future. It’s safe to assume that if it does come, then it will be for the Nintendo 3DS. We shall have to wait and see.

I hope so. I never finished MM on my emulator, but I would definitely buy the remaster and play it. I keep meaning to finish that game...

Honestly, I've been scarred too much by the creepypasta to dare actually play Majora's Mask. 

I'm pretty much convinced that they're working on a remake for it now... or maybe a sequel?

Aside from that theory that says Link is dead throughout Majora, it's open to possibilities for a sequel. Link was a child during the game, and the theory aside it is part of the timeline that hasn't come to a close yet, so a sequel is never impossible.

 

Given that Majora is one of the Zelda games people consider the best, it would be understandable if it got a sequel. A Link to the Past got one, after all.

 

But then also take into consideration that Majora itself was a sequel to the Child timeline of Ocarina, and I'm not sure if that diminishes or increases its chances.

 

But that's all rampant speculation on my part, because in all likelihood it's a remake, which I am all for. The idea that it could be a sequel literally just came to me, and I've given no more thought to it then what I said here..

Lol really? Well you'll be glad to kniw that that was just made up by sombody. It's not a true story.

Majora's Mask 3DS will be the only game bar KH that I'll preorder.  

I really hope so. Majora's Mask was an outstanding game that was sadly always in the shadow of Ocarina of Time. I'll definitely pick it up if it does get released.

I'm fine with having my GameCube copy of Majora's Mask.
