Were you born into a religion and have you changed since then?

Posted

So I'm supposed to ask 10 people for my World Religions project but I really don't wanna go around and find like 10 random people to ask, so could you guys answer this? Basically, were you born into a religion? If so, which? Have your religious beliefs changed since then?

(example: I was raised Christian and I'm now an atheist. Please specify which religion you were first if you changed religions!!)

edit: also this is just a survey, I really don't want this cluttered with people arguing and trying to change each other's religious views, so PLEASE don't do that!!

I was born a Christian, and I still am one. It's due to my own personal experiences though, not just because I was raised that way.

I was vaguely raised catholic, but my parents weren't particularly devout. (At least it didn't seem that way.) I don't see how a supernatural being fits into the grand scheme of things, so I'd say I've always been skeptical.

I am born Muslim. My dad is a Muslim while my mum was born a Christian and later on converted to Muslim to marry my dad.

I'm sure most of you are curious to why my mum had to convert into Muslim to marry my dad. Quite simple actually. She chose love over religion and better to be with someone for the rest of her life rather than fighting over religion. It was simpler times compared to now according to what my parents told me.

As for me, yeah I'm quite Alright on being a Muslim. Not much trouble for me. Believe what I want to believe in and pray with a pure heart and not as a chore. I haven't change much of my views and it's been smooth sailing so far. Not much of a hassle being one to be honest. Sure there are some strict rules but I've come to adapt it naturally. It's not like those rules are very bad or life threatening anyway.

Other than that, yeah. Being a Muslim over here so far has been great for me ever since I was born and was raised properly by my parents.

I'm really glad you posted this because I was thinking "uh oh, I'm going to have to write that everyone is born christian or converted to atheism later and that's going to be really boring" xD
