William Shakespeare is pretty good with tragedies, not many people know him though, I guess you could say he's kind of an "underground" author. In all seriousness, I think what makes tragic endings so great is that they're not as common as happy endings.  Most people would expect a well-deserved victory for the good guys, and that's generally what happens.  But every now and then in a story, movie, whatever, a tragic ending comes along and 9/10 times I will love it.  So, I guess I personally like tragic endings more, because they don't occur as often as happy endings.

I prefer it when everyone gets a happy ending- but many Users tend to enjoy conflict and drama with darker endings from what I've seen, as that's deemed less boring

I like both of them. I like a good or sad ending. Although, i lean more on bittersweet endings, since they tend to be more realistic considering all that characters have gone through. You can't get everything right in real life. Even if you achieve your goals, that doesnt always mean that everything will go your way from their on out, you have to sacrifice some things to achieve it sometimes.

Happy ending.(i would like the bad ending too if lets say i liked the villain of the story)

I like an ending that best fits the story being told. What matters is not doing an ending just for the sake of it, but doing it because it makes sense.  For instance, the ending of Godfather II is far from being happy, but it's the best ending to serve the character arc of MIchael Corleone and what he's become. It's not a good ending because it's "sad," it's a good ending because it brings to a climax all the elements of the story and makes an ending based on what comes natural from those points.

Well ,some of the Grand Theft Auto games did not have a happy  ending so yeah ..... Grand Theft Auto III : Claude (protagonist) has killed his girlfriend and a hundred of people . Grand Theft Auto San Andreas : The Grove Street Family ends up having problems all over the three cities . Grand Theft Auto IV (which has got two choices) : in the first ending , Niko Bellic (protagonist) loses his cousin Roman Bellic in a gunfight while in the second ending , Katie McReary(almost girlfriend) gets killed in front of his own eyes . Grand Theft Auto IV The Lost & Damned : The Lost Motorcycle club gets destroyed and "ends up in fire" . Grand Theft Auto V (three choices ,from which two have got "Sad" endings ) : in one of the endings Franklin (one of the three protagonists) with the help of Michael (another protagonist) get to kill Trevor (the third protagonist ) while in the second ending Franklin gets to kill Michael  (note: Michael has got a family that consists of his wife ,one daughter and one son ) .

I like tragic endings too! Of course not always, but it would be really boring if all stories had happy endings.

The endings that I love the most are those you just can't quess... nothing too random, but I like plot twists, as long as they fit the story.
