I've just came back after hearing about more megas getting banned to Ubers by Smogon...and I facepalmed

 

I'm sorry,but Smogon's recent banning decisions are utterly stupid

 

More megas are on the verge of getting banned alongside the likes of Mega Gengar and Mega Lucario that are getting banned

 

First off,why the hell should Mega Gengar get banned???

 

I know the set most Mega Gengar use like a Shadow Tagged Perish Song with Substitute....but there are tons of counters for Mega Gengar

 

For one,Mega Gengar doesn't have Levitate,so he can't avoid Earthquake or Earth Power,not to mention that Gengar and his mega evolution are frail and can barely survive a super effective attack especially things like an Alakazam(without his mega evolution)or Excadrill

 

Also,just because Mega Lucario has Adaptability STAB boost doesn't mean he should be totally banned....

 

As I said for Mega Gengar,there are many other counters for Lucario,sure his Attack and Special attack are high,but it's still frail and can never survive a Sand Rush Excadrill or a Flame Wheel Mega Charizard Y or a Dragon Dance Mega Charizard X will destroy it

 

The only banning decision for Megas that they did right was banning Mega Kangaskhan to Uber as it was very fast with things like Sucker punch,being a normal type she has one weakness and a Power-up Punch set up can cause it to sweep an entire team and her ability Parental Bond is freakin broken

 

Smogon obviously want to go back to the Gen 5 meta game by almost banning all Mega Evolution...which an absolute whoreshit because if anything Mega Evolution helped the 6th Gen meta game

 

Don't just swing the ban hammer on any Mega evolution that proves to be useful without being broken.....Mega Gengar and Mega Lucario should've never been banned at all as both can be countered by many other Pokemon and both have low defensespecial defense

 

And before anyone tells me:Duuuuh you can ignore Smogon derp

 

Yeah maybe I can,but the problem is that almost everyone in the metagame are following smogon rules and tiers and expect everyone to do the same online otherwise they'll call you a cheater and ragequit

 

And in Showdown you can only play using Smogon rules

 

Seriously if Smogon kept this bullshit going,I'm gonna go to a different place where VGC rules are applied

Deoxys Speed is going all over the place

 

Once he was uber,next he became OU,then UU and now he's back to Ubers.

 

Genesect could've been banned but really any Fire Type could destroy it just like Mega Scizor

But perhaps not all members of the online pokemon battle world are as knowledgeable as you and therefore have a continuously difficult time facing the two banned pokemon. Furthermore, perhaps enough evidence of overpowered-ness, and/or complaints have been seen and therefore action was taken to best accommodate for the majority of users.

There are lots people who knows waaaay more than I do and they're angry about Smogon's decisions

 

I stated that those banned Pokemon have so many counters that can destroy them

 

There is no reason to ban all Mega evolutions....just because Mega evolution changed the meta game doesn't mean that every Mega should be banned

The reason why they are doing suspect tests, to see how the metagame does with and without M-Lucario, Genesect and Deoxys-S. M-Gardevoir is fine, if anything her speed is meh despite of the upgrade, and that horrible defense... Ugh. I'd still use her, but with good support or regular Gardevoir as support.Incoming Joker meme to summarize what I'm about to say; (doesn't apply to all, but most out there like FB)Smogon suspect tests legendaries, no one bats an eye. If Pokemon tournaments didn't have rules, everything would go to crap instantly. You'd have everyone using the same teams filled with Dialga, Darkrai, Arceus, or whatever the heck else they want to have. The rules are there to keep things fair, and to be honest, the Gamefreak rules are quite fair. I hate seeing someone use something like Dialga online because it shows zero skill or effort. I don't pay much attention to the Smogon rules these days since I'm more focused on the actual game than competitive play (Even though I want to get into competitive play), so I can't say much on those. However, I will say that there ARE some Pokemon that need to be banned from tournaments in order to keep things fair. It would suck to be completely sweeped by someone who just tossed out an overpowered Legendary and didn't need any strategy or thought to win.

Fixed that for ya. Don't be like the many who overreact. If that were the case, why the firetruck hasn't Rotom-W been banned for the last 3 gens? FYI the thing was always top 10 used, hell it's still number one most used as of January statistics.

 

Garchomp was never banned in VGC. TPC never bans non-legends (not counting Chatot since they fear it's Chatter=cursing); they ban silly-willy Phoines, Regigigas, etc for that matter.

I don't care if M-Lucario gets the boot or not. Genensect is a mixed case scenario, and Deo-S can stay as it isn't as dominate as in 5th gen OU+defoggers that can't be taunted.
