Tutorial:Easy way to level up in Destiny Islands

Posted

I found an easy way to grind in Destiny Island

When the heartless come and you need to go the secret place door...don't do that

What you do is...you beat up every single heartless in DI

Places where the Heartless Appear

1.Above the Shaft

2.The place where Tidus Trains/Where you get the questions in the beginning of the game

3.Riku's Island/Bridge/Near the upper door to the Shaft

4.The place where Selphie stays/Near the Boats

5.The place where Kairi is in the beginning of the game

6.The Waterfall

7.The treehouse thing above where Kairi asks you to go get the "Cloth" in the beginning of the game

8.The Beach

When you beat all of them you get 130+ exp(depending on your tech points for blocking their attacks you can get more) since there's 130+ heartless that you beat(1 exp per Heartless you beat)

When you do that you head over to the shaft...you enter the shaft(you can also save your game there) and you exit it and the Heartless will respawn

You can do this over and over till you get the level you desire

I grinded up to level 23-24 before I got tired...suffice to say Shadow Sora was a piece of cake when I went through the door...he went down in 2-3 seconds lol

You can also keep fighting Wakka for tech points.

I find that annoying...and time-consuming...it's easier to just kill Heartless over and over...considering you get 130+ exp per lap

But then again that's me

I wonder if anyone knew about this method of mine before

You could do it in the Three-On-One battle.

But to be honest, I find doing those sort of things pointless. If you aim to do everything in the game except for the Gummiship missions you'll easily reach level 100. I mean heck, I never trained and I still reached level 100 before I took on Sephiroth or Unknown.

Meh I find my method more effective...I got to level 23-24(can't remember) in a couple of hours...I think some people who have more patience than me can grind up to level 100 in like maybe 15 hours or so...maybe in 12 hours using this method

Plus the heartless drop potions all over the place when you're doing this...you will be getting 99 potions in no time(so that's a useful thing)

This was a thread for those out there like me who want to plan ahead for their next battles/encounters and want to be ahead of the bosses every time(you know like those who aim to achieve the fewest death and stuff like that)

It's fun to go to the next battles being completely overpowered against your enemies sometimes

I'm sorry if I offended anyone by this, but I'm not ready for the most tedious way to grind in an RPG that some people do(A.K.A early grinding on low level enemies)

Sure I can do it with Roxas in KH2 too but it's gonna take waaaaay longer than necessary because neither the Shadow Heartless nor the dusk variety of nobodies will give me the amount of experience I need once I reach level 9 or 10 because they give very little amount of experience the more you progress in leveling up

It's like grinding Goblins in FF4 or grinding the weak shotgun soldiers in Midgar in FF7

Grinding with Roxas in Twilight Town is insanity...even I wouldn't dare do that...the game doesn't give you much enemies to grind on

Grinding with Sora in KH1 though? Using my method it's a freaking joke by comparison

You get so much exp in for one lap around Destiny Islands beating Heartless it's ridiculous

Anyways this thread is for those who do like to grind...so yeah

I like grinding....just against stronger enemies or enemies that gives a lot of experience like grinding Audino's in Pokemon Black and White 1&2 or Flan Princesses in FF4 to get the rare item they drop

The best grinding I ever did was in Dissidia 012 where I leveled up a Lv10 Kain from Lv10 to Lv70 in a single battle against a LV99 Maniken

I honestly don't see the point. The amount of time you would spend in Destiny Islands getting to a high level - like 25 - would probably be roughly the same amount of time to play through the game normally, at a later point in the game, in that same level range or higher.

Even if you go through the trouble of grinding that high, eventually the game will catch up to you, and you'll be right back in the level range the game intended you to be in (Around the 2nd Visit to Traverse Town).

Well this topic was more about an opportunity where you can easily grind early on in the game

But...for grinding against tough enemies in KH1...I recommend fighting Sephiroth...you gain a level each time you kill him(something like 17000 exp IIRC)

Also Rock Titan is a very very easy way to grind he gives you 4000 exp each time you beat him

Nah...the game doesn't really catch up with you from then on for the most part

All the stages after DI have even more heartless in them(Traverse Town,Deep Jungle, possibly Wonderland)

The exp system in KH1 is very exploitable

Nowhere near as exploitable as in KH2 coughPrideLandscough but still

You can also keep fighting Wakka for tech points.

I agree wtih ya .

But ,yeah , I have also tried that method ....

I used to do that after i first got the game when i was little, but i didn't have a Memory Card at the time so i didn't know i could reset them. Afterwards, i would leave for Traverse Town at level 9-12

Oh how I know this pain

That feeling of unlocking many Characters in Dragon Ball Z:Budokai Tenkaichi 2 and then you knowing you're gonna lose all of them once you turn your PS2 off

Before i got a Memory Card, i had never left Traverse Town. I finished it, but never left

I only go to about Level 5 there with Roxas and by time I'm leaving TT as Sora, I'm Level 10, which is good enough for a Proud playthrough. It's not so tedious when you aim low.

I would only grind on Destiny Islands for a few levels, (I think 7 was what I used to aim for), cause there's better exp to be gained just roaming TT when heartless emerge.

Well if you use my method I posted in the OP...it's pretty easy to grind in DI

If you're trying to grind through Wakka/Selphie/Tidus...then yea it's very frustrating

I mean 'till like level 14 or so it's like 200 exp(2 laps around DI beating Heartless) per "Level Up"

That's easy as hell

Gradually the exp amount increases to 400 exp(3 laps around DI beating Heartless)

And so on and so forth

Best Grinding Spot is obviously Rock Titan...but that's not what the topic is about

I've used both methods on different playthroughs, no matter how easy it seems running in circles round the same enemies in the prologue gets boring if you're doing it for a number of level increases instead of just a few so you don't so easily die.

That's not the point though

I wasn't asking anyone if grinding is fun or boring

I was just offering advice to some people who might want to grind and enjoy doing so

That wasn't my point.  I wasn't saying that you were.

Just for grinding, there are a number of places that are better to just throw yourself into later in the game cause it's more EXP, more enemies, item drops etc so it would  be a waste of time to stay on Destiny Islands for a really long time for grinding, when after level 7 or 8 (depending on your difficulty level you can even get away without grinding) you can just move forward and then grind on stronger more diverse enemies with different item drops and level up faster.  The amount of Shadows you have to kill to gain a level increases each time you level if you're just sticking with them for ages it would just result in a wasted amount of hours that could be cut down if you just went ahead and using other grinding spots with harder enemies.

In short I grinded to level 7 on hard using this method and was just fine in TT so why waste time doing it for longer when you can survive and take on enemies with higher EXP just fine.

I always aim low there by the way

But there are some people that crazily aim for Lv20 or above with Roxas before reaching Sora

I find that a bit insane. I heard it's actually possible to miss abilities for Sora if you grind Roxas up too long, but I doubt it as anything unlocked at a certain level is based on what path you chose, not if you're still Roxas or not.

It takes too long, and is extremely boring.

Dusk nobodies gives very little amount of experience to worth grinding on.....and by the time you reach level 10 they becomes as useless as the goblins in FF4

I know that

This is more of a solution for somebody who wants to break the game for kicks by grinding to level 50 or something and then easily beating the rest of the game

Do you think the devs intended this grinding spot? In KH2 it's pretty much impossible to grind to level 99 with Roxas cuz there isn't many enemies

I always aim low there by the way

Believe it or not...I read a thread in some forum where some guys tried to get to level 99 with Roxas

One of the guys was level 95 or something and his save file got corrupt before he could reach level 99

Holy shit that's a nightmare if I ever saw one

My way of farming EXP on Destiny Islands is much faster and effective- and I chose the dead of night leveling up rate xD
