Are we supposed to ignore FINAL FANTASY IV's Interlude now?

Posted

Square Enix have only released this short story once in FINAL FANTASY IV: The Complete Collection for PlayStation Portable and they only developed it in the first place because they felt the rest of the collection wasn't enough. Since then, despite tons of ports we haven't heard anything about it. Are we supposed to ignore the Interlude now?

I'm stuck at the final boss in Final Fantasy IV so I haven't gotten to the Interlude yet. But to me it always seemed like a bridge-game between FFIV and The After Years. So if it bridges a gap between the two games I don't see any reasons to ignore it.

My reason being is because Square Enix don't seem to care about it anymore.

What are you waiting and expecting? Square Enix to release it on the smartphones?

Well....yes. They released I-VI including The After Years on iOS and Android and Square Enix haven't said anything about the Interlude since it's release on PSP.

It's nevertheless still a part of the story. They probably haven't bothered with porting it due to it being so short. They've left it to be just a PSP exclusive. That's just my guess.

The PlayStation Portable is dead though. They need it on modern hardware if they want people to care about it. And something being too short isn't really a reason for not porting it to iOS and Android. It's free money for them to port it to iOS and Android.

Until there's more demand for it, probably never.

Dude FFIV Interlude is NOT a full game

it's a bonus episode exclusive to the PSP collection and it only exists to connect FFIV with the After Years

Interlude should never be it's own game even if it was ported to iOS

btw,do you have an obsession with mobile gaming???Because I'm expecting you soon to tell me that Angry Birds is a masterpiece for some reason

Can't forget about Android. :P

If they really care about it though they would port it, it's free money and gets it on modern hardware.

God no. I hardly ever play games on my smartphone. I hate Angry Birds, it gets so boring.

They should never charge for The Interlude because really it's a bonus episode and it's very short

Include it as a bonus...ok,but as it's own game??No

They charged for The After Years episodes on Japan mobile phones and on the Wii and I'm betting some of them were shorter.

Because it was multiple episodes of what is actually one game....it's pretty much like The Walking Dead episodic series

Interlude on the other hand is just one little episodes that serves one little purpose....connect FFIV to the after years

Yes, yes we are

They probably haven't released it since it is such a short game, and the majority of it is dialogue. Though they could add a prologue before the After Years or a longer Epilogue at the end of FFIV.

Well it seems we are supposed to ignore it then.
