Well, his twitter said it had nothing to do with legal issues. It seemed he couldn't handle the pressure, which is sad, because people hyped this game up so much. It's just a game people. A phone game no less.

Well that's upsetting. But I still got it installed, so It's still playable?

It just boggles my mind how companies like Capcom and Square Enix are catering to this mobile market that never cared about them or heard of them and then they wonder why 90% of their losses came from their mobile division

Releasing games on iOS and Android is basically free money. The major FINAL FANTASY titles on iOS and Android are some of the most popular games on the iTunes and Google Play stores. Their losses? Pretty much they aren't losing anything by releasing classic games on devices that nearly everyone has.

"On 24 January, Square Enix Holdings share price reached its maximum allowable single-day gain of 400 yen to finish the day's trading at 2,081 yen. This is the company's highest share price in over four years. The gains are partly attributed to Square Enix's 23 January release of Dragon Quest Monsters Super Light."

 

Square Enix releasing classic games and spin-off games on iOS and Android is only helping them and is not delaying anything. If you don't like those platforms just ignore them since it's not going to affect you or your games in anyway.

Huh, and to think I heard of this game just a few days ago, and when I saw it, this was my impression: "Oh cool, so the goal is to get the Super Mario fish enemy through Super Mario looking tubes in a Super Mario-esque background?  Pretty cool. xD"  But um, yeah, R.I.P Flappy Bird.
