Really the real enemy of Final Fantasy VII isn't necessarily Sephiroth

 

Shinra as a whole was the main enemy almost all the time since most of our struggles in the game was against Shinra while Sephiroth was pretty much a bystander taking advantages of what both sides do until he got the Black Materia

 

Not to mention that throughout all the games in the Compilation of FFVII series,Shinra was the cause of all the disasters that happened in each game even if they wasn't directly involved during the crisis,but it's their experiment on Jenova and her cells is what almost caused all of this.

 

Oh...and don't get me started on Hojo,whom at the end of disc 2 was feeding Sephiroth with Mako energy from the reactors,f*** Hojo.

Dude I hate Hojo with a passion...this asshole is pretty much the cause of almost every disaster in the FFVII Universe

 

As for Lucrecia...she's also guilty for the fact that not only she married the f**ker....but SHE AGREED TO USE HER SON(Who's Sephiroth btw) FOR THE EXPERIMENT!!!!

 

And instead of actually TRYING to meet her son later or attempt to talk to him before he went insane,she ran away and crystalized herself.

 

I really feel so sorry for Sephiroth now

Yeah......turning his son into an insane monster with god complex and using him as an experiment and by feeding him Mako he made Meteor comes even faster and made Sephiroth even more stronger

Also, I don't think many people realize that Cloud seems to be quite easy to relate to if one thinks about how his or her own fears play out.  Cloud is our cowardly side who learns to do what he must (Zack still seems to be the main character imo). Just my two cents.

Well he wouldn't have got all this power without Shin-Ra messing up with him since Birth

 

So his insanity is really Shin-Ra's fault

 

And I meant really by prominence 

 

You fight Shin-Ra for almost 97% of the game than you do fighting Sephiroth or Jenova

But antagonist really comes under simple story ways of thinking. In the end, Sephiroth was going to destroy the world and needed to be stopped, thus being the antagonist. You are not supposed to look at the things behind that, because in the end that is the main plot. Like with FFX. You have Seymour who basically becomes the main villain of the game, and then you have Yu Yevon who pretty much causes everything, but when it comes down to it the story is about setting out to destroy Sin (Jecht). It is the same principles. There is sometimes different examples of different types of antagonists, otherwise normally it is what I just explained.

Btw,Sephiroth has been sleeping in the Northern crater through the entire game...he just possesses Jenova's parts and shape them to look like him

 

 

 

Also,you can't tell me that Necron is the main villain of FF9 just because he's the final boss

@Necron it all depends. Yu Yevon is the last boss but he isn't the main villain.

I've always considered Sephiroth the main villain of FFVII obviously because he's the final boss,but also because Cloud is the main character and if I remember correctly,the only reason why he went on this big adventure to save the world was to kill Sephiroth,Shinra wasn't his top priority and I never really considered Shinra as villain,to me the people at Shinra are just greedy people who only cares for money,like any typical company.They've done terrible things too,but I wouldn't put them on the same boat as the empire of FFVI or the queen of FFIX.  

 

And yeah,firetruck Hojo,I never hated a fictional character as much as I hate him.He's definitely one of the main villain and he works for Shinra ,but I don't think it'd fair to say that Shinra as a whole is the main villain because of him.

@Necron it all depends. Yu Yevon is the last boss but he isn't the main villain.

Yu Yevon was pathetic as a boss and never deserves to be a main villain

 

Necron pops up out of absolutely no where which is one of the very very few things in IX that I didn't like and that was Necron(And the looooooooooong summon animations)

 

Anyway,that's just my opinion,feel free to ignore it or take it,it's an opinion at the end of the day
