So, how big are really the chances to get a Kingdom Hearts character in some way or another in the new (or future) Smash Bros game?

I don't mean like it have to be a playable character but a assist trophy or something?

Extremely low. Kingdom Hearts is mostly PlayStation based.

It's not the matter of it being Playstation based because MGS mostly was after the MSX era and we got Solid Snake in Smash Bros Brawl

the real problem is:It's gonna be a licensing nightmare as Sakurai not only he needs to contact Nomura and Square Enix, but he also needs to contact Disney as well and getting HJO  isn't always that easy

Sakurai needs to go through lots of hurdles just to add Sora there and for him it may not worth it

Heck, getting Cloud Strife to be in Smash Bros is much easier

Promise a really good spotlight and Toriyama will just hand over Lightning xD

Toriyama will lick Sakurai's boot just to add Lightning in Smash Bros

Never tell me the odds

Pretty much.

Playstation Allstars more likely.

Even Ps All Star dude it'll be hard to put Sora there, regardless of the Sony beginning it's gonna be a licensing nightmare for the team to go contact Nomura and Square Enix, then go and Contact Disney who may or may not approve of including the character as they're still strict even with their partnership with Square

I just mean he would suit being on Playstation more.

I love how everyone's saying KH is more of a Playstation franchise, when it has about as many KH games as Sony systems do (CoM, Days, Re:Coded, and DDD, compared to KHI, KHII, BBS, and KHIII. Not counting remakes aside from Re:Coded, since Coded was only in Japan).

Anyway, zero chance. I'd love to see him in there, but I've accepted it'll never happen.

The only major title on a Nintendo console is Kingdom Hearts 3D. So really you could say four major titles to one.

Even though Sora was created by Nomura personally; to me that doesn't make sense. Nomura created Sora for KH but he doesn't exactly own him really doesn't make sense does it?

He does own Sora but not completely

Sora and the main cast of KH is kind of a shared property between Square and Disney created only for this series

Nomura obviously has some creative control over his characters hence why Disney couldn't feature them in any of their movies or cartoon

But Disney also owns a good chunk of the series....so in order for any other party(Sony,Nintendo or Microsoft) to feature Sora,Riku.....etc in a crossover game like say Smash Bros or Ps All Star....they have to go through a lot of licensing hassle that may end up not worth it.

If Sakurai would choose any Square character to appear in Smash Bros he'll obviously gonna pick Cloud since he's the most popular protagonist in the FF series...possibly Square's most popular character and he'll get it very easily since all he has to do is contact Nomura and Square for it without doing so much licensing job and the payoff will mostly worth it since everybody knows Cloud.

I would pick Lightning. Cloud is boring.

Lightning is based off of Cloud so....

Not really. Lightning is much farther interesting than Cloud. And much different in everyday.
