(Three years old in Japan, of course)

Dang, tough to believe it's been 3 years. I've only had mine for a little over half a year now, but I've been following the system pretty much since release. It's amazing how quickly it went from being considered a terrible system to now becoming incredibly popular. This past year, it's gotten a crazy amount of support. Congratulations getting the 3DS to become so popular, Nintendo!

Also, because I can, I'm just going to list my personal favorite 3DS games.

Pokemon Y Version (My most played game, 140:04 hours and counting.)

Animal Crossing: New Leaf (91:56 hours)

Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance (49:39 hours)

Ah yes, the 3DS is already three years old.  Damn, either time flies too fast, or we're just getting older. 0_0  But yeah, I really don't get why Nintendo systems get hated on.  Sure, they may not boast as impressive graphics as Sony or Microsoft, but they deliver quality game experiences!  And well, I got to play Ocarina of Time thanks to the 3DS, and I loved it!  And Dream Drop Distance is the game I've put the most hours to on my 3DS, and I also played Pokemon X, and Super Mario 3D Land!  And now I'm considering buying Tales Of The Abyss since I'm loving Tales Of Xilia for the PS3 right now.  But anyways, I hope the 3DS gets the recognition it deserves, and hey, portable Nintendo consoles are known for their great RPG's, so I'm keeping a close eye on this handheld, more so since I own one since 2011 if I'm not mistaken. :)

Just about a month away from its 3 year anniversary in the US, then. I've had mine since launch and have never regretted it.

My top two games are Fire Emblem Awakening and Tales of the Abyss, at about 154 hours and 144 hours respectively.

3 years? I still feel like my DS lite+i was only yesterday, even a worse case for my 3DS. Time sure flies.

A lot of good games for it that I've played. SM3DL, KH3D, PMSS, PokeY, MaLDT, to name a few.

The 3DS is three years old and I still don't have one :(

this isn't good.

I didn't get one until June last year, you're not the only one who's late. xD Better late than never, anyway.

Happy Birthday, 3DS!

I one of those who can't believe that it has already been 3 years, well almost 3 here in NA, but anyway. I still remember when I went to Gamestop for its midnight release, and opening the box, to see that beautiful shiny Aqua Blue 3DS. Then when ALBW came out, I updated to the Zelda 3DS XL, and I begun to love my 3DS even more. The big screens are magnific and the console fit perfectly in my hands. Anyway, happy 3rd birthday to the 3DS, may the following years, continue being of glory have this past one has been.

Though something I really can't believe how many special edition 3DS-3DSLL/XL have been released in those 3 years.

That Yveltal one is still as beautiful as ever... If I had to get a 3DS XL, I'd want one of those. I don't think they sell them anymore, though. :/

If you were going to get it, your best bet to find one would be in Ebay or Amazon. Amazon would probably be a better choice, since it will surely have more chances of being brand new, since some people buy it, to resell it or the third-party sellers may have it brand new.

I have one for a year and a third. Only have 2 3DS games (Should be obvious), plus a good amount of Pokemon DS games to go with it as well.

Needs more third-party games. Needs Pokemon gen 3 remake.

If you haven't noticed, the 3DS already has a lot of 3rd party games.

Not my type of third-party games. But then again, what should I expect, this is the way it is for this generation.

I have to ask you: How come you're not into other type of games besides Pokemon, Final Fantasy, and Kingdom Hearts? You're really missing out on other great games like Persona, Professor Layton, Pheonix Write, Sonic, ect. I mean I know you like the ones you already play but it never hurts to try something new.

I play plenty of other games such as Dragon Ball Z, TRANSFORMERS, Star Wars and sports games.

And I've tried Sonic plenty of times through all the classics and modern ones like Heroes, Shadow, Generations and All Stars Racing.

Man time flies when you're having fun... Though that first year was a tough one to get through, I only had Street Fighter IV 3D for what seemed like forever and found myself playing my DS games on a more shiny console (my DSi was pretty bummed about it) for most of the time. Now I have too many games to play on the machine! :P

Personal favourites are Kingdom Hearts 3D, Fire Emblem Awakening, Animal Crossing and Bravely Default but my most played are (according to Activity Log):

-Animal Crossing: New Leaf (167hrs+)

-Pokemon X (105hrs+)

-Kingdom Hearts 3D + Fire Emblem (65hrs+)

Here's to this year and beyond for the 3DS it can only get better from here! :D

Aside from Fire Emblem, and Pokemon Y instead of X, that's pretty much my three most played games. Just switch New Leaf and Pokemon Y. xD Bravely Default looks really good, I'm hoping to get it soon.

Funnily enough I picked up Bravely Default just before Christmas and still haven't gotten around to finishing it xD I've played a lot of hours on it though and it is one of the best RPGs on the system easily. I'm a sucker for the humour in it too :P I cannot support Nintendo enough for the help they did bringing it to the western markets.
