I'm honestly glad that Square-Enix isn't making a X-3. Imo it would just further ruin what made the original FFX so great, beautiful, and brilliant. I don't like the idea of Sin coming back because then it would defeat the purpose of him dying in the original FFX. I mean, why have him killed off only to return and wreck havok once again? Plus with Toriyama directing it I bet he would turn it into another wet fantasy like with Lightning Returns and FF X-2.

I agree as well. However, all they said was they weren't making a X-3. That doesn't mean they won't make a X related game. Wording is really important. lol

I'm still not sure that they're not. It wouldn't be the first time Square's blatantly lied about something. And you know they didn't just make the novella and audio drama for kicks.

 

Personally, I (and a lot of fans), think they might be making a movie. I mean, wasn't Toriyama recently asked about a movie, whilst promoting the X/X-2 HD collection?

 

But anyway, it really seems like they're going the Advent Children route to me here. Release a novella that takes place between the source material and a future installment? Check. Bring back the main antagonist from the previous game to be in the new movie? Check.

I haven't played any FF games besides demoes of XIII and XHD, so IDK whether I agree or not.

Lol. I can't believe you took that as "We aren't making X-3". He was explaining why they included the audio drama. He was actually quite vague. I even asked DChiuch what he thought, and he said it was quite vague. You honestly expect them to announce an a game like X-3 via interview. LOL.

 

And X-2.5 is an official story, Sin is back so deal with it. If we get X-3 they can kill it again, otherwise we're stuck with a "To Be Continued" that has Sin alive.
