I am truly sorry if this already exist, but I have a huge doubt. Riku became a key blade master because he withstand darkness and finally defeated Ansem within him, Sora did not pass because of the opposite reason. The reason why Riku managed to defend himself is the "resistance" from darkness he created. Now that Sora fell into darkness and was saved by Ventus and Riku, is he immune too? I mean, does he has a bigger resistance now ?

I don't...think so

No I don't think he is. Isn't sora vulnerable to darkness?

I'd say he's just as resistant as he's always been.

Maybe if he broke free from the darkness' hold himself but since it was Riku and Ven, I don't see why there'd be much of a difference.

Hasn't Sora always been kinda resistant ?

I think it's only the pure light from Ven's heart. I mean, without Ven going to Sora's heart I'm pretty sure Sora would've been stuck as a heartless or something.

Probably .

Considering he needed to be saved from it, I would say no.  If he fought through and break free himself, I would say he built up resistance but Riku saved him.  However I doubt we'd see that plot play again in KH3 since it's already been done.

Sora will never be safe

Sora is, in fact, quite resistant to Darkness, having refused its temptations in multiple scenarios.

There is darkness in every heart; Sora is never safe as long as there are those who try to oppose the light. He can be resistant to it, but not immune to it.

Sounds like somebody forgot the main lesson of Kingdom Hearts 1.

It wasn't so much of a resistance to darkness as it was a resistance to the EVIL of darkness, or at least the kind of negative influence that Xehanort and everyone else was trying to push him towards. Riku accepted his darkness and used it in a way that helped him and others rather than consume him. Sora on the other hand, while he has escaped darkness before, he has still been placed in opposition against darkness. He has had some dark influences before, but never at a level comparable to Riku. There's a saying in Bleach that talks about how those with great power should also learn to fear their own power. Riku had his power of darkness all along but never really understood it's gravity until he was made aware of how dangerous it was to him. Once he overcame both that danger and fear, he was able to turn it into something helpful. Sora however never went through such a conflict. He knew that light could be used against darkness, but not how to come to terms with it. It's not that he underestimated his own darkness, or overestimated his own power, he didn't even think twice about his darkness. It's that he didn't anticipate the true dangers and risks of getting too deep within your own darkness. Most of it isn't his fault. The context of the situation really just came down to him trying to find some answers from his dream, despite faint warnings that the deeper you go, the harder it will be to get out. However, he still needed outside help because once confronted by darkness, he was already weakened and didn't have any left over strength to break free. It's just a case of getting in too deep and way over your head without having to deal with something over time before hand in smaller increments, much like Riku. But if Sora can find a way to come to terms with his own weaknesses, I'm sure he'll be more ready for that kind of a risk again.

Sora's never been safe and he's in more danger now because "The closer you are to light, the longer your shadow gets"

That was a bit rude .____. Or at least it came off as that...

Wow, lots of people answer. Ok, saying that Sora is not immune and that MX is going to try get his 13th vessel, that means he'll try sora again? I feel is kinda improbable, but possible. Also, how will they get Terra back? 0: I mean, he also aged with MX as Terranort.

Sorry, but what I meant to say was that the main reason that Sora came back was his connection to Kairi. It was because of the bond they share that he was able to come back, not because of Ven being there to give Sora a backup supply of light or anything like that. Well, it may also be because he doesn't have as much darkness in his heart as, say, Riku, but the main point is that it was the connection that brought them back, which was the big lesson in Kingdom Hearts. I guess you could argue Ven may have helped out...but then again, his heart is supposedly in Roxas's body by that point, so really, just trying to add Ven to that equation will only give you an unneeded headache. Sorry about the confusion.
