Does Anyone Think That Nintendo Should Make a GameCube VC?

Posted

I honestly think Nintendo should make a GameCybe virtual console for the Wii U since the original Wii had a virtual console for the NES, SNES, and N64. It would be a great way for new gamers who's missed out on the days of the GameCube. Plus, I would really like to play some of my favorite GameCube games again like Super Smash bros. Melee, Super Mario Sunshine, Luigi's Mansion Mario Kart: Double Dash,  and Pokemon Colesseum/Gale of Darkness (Not sure if i should add Tales of Symphonia since Namco just made an HD version of it).

That's not a bad idea at all, I can see it working.

I'd like to see that, but like the issue with 3DS VC, I'd prefer to see more new games over more VC games. Just personal preference, the Wii U could use more games.

EDIT: To clarify, I'd love to see this happen. I just want to see some more new games, too. I think they're expanding the VC library a lot already, so I'd say they should take some time to work on new games.

Yes.

I've been hoping for this since the Wii era. Now I can see why it wouldn't work due to the controls on the Wii U, but wouldn't they be smart enough to release a controller with the controls of the GC that works with the Wii U so they make money off the controller and the GC VC?

Do want to play Paper Mario TTYD.

And that's when the Wii U Pro Controller comes in.

I see your point. But I don't think that a VC for Wii U would affect the amount of new games that could be made for the Wii U.

I know, but I'd just personally prefer new games. :/ I love VC, but geez, they need to give us time to catch up with GBA and DS games that are coming to it, anyway. xD

Doesn't it have one or two controls different than the GC controller? I guess even if doesn't, Nintendo would have to change button inputs as the games might not detect the new buttons, despite of the similar scheme of controllers.

As much as I'd like for this to happen, I doubt it will. If they had virtual console games from the Game Cube, then they won't make as many sales on Remastered versions of those games. For example, Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD wouldn't have sold nearly as many copies if people could just purchase a much cheaper version of the game on the same console.

I'd love to see it happen. Sure I still have a working GameCube in my house and a ton of games to go with but I missed quite a few gems during that era so I'd definitely love to see a nice GameCube library.

Of course. They should make it possible to download games from all of their consoles on Wii U and when possible, 3DS.

Well yeah, like you said, they could just change the button inputs on the Wii U Pro Controller.

It would be a good idea, though it would be troublesome. The Wii U doesn't have that big of a memory, and Gamecube games are around 1.4 gb each, the majority of people would download the Metroid Prime Trilogy, Paper Mario TTYD, Super Mario Sunshine, SSBM, and Luigi's Mansion, that would already be 9.8 GB. That already is more than what the Basic Wii U can hold, and around a 4th part of the Deluxe Wii U's memory. That's way to much, specially with all the updates that occur, and any other games the person has download. It is better that they remake the most loved GC games, and release them between new 1st party releases to cover up droughts.

External HD's aren't that expensive you know. As much as I hate to quote what Nintendo said (because the Wii U should have had 500 GB to begin with), if people want more memory, to buy a HD because it's cheap.

I'm suprise they haven't done it already,GC games should be available on the Wii U

Well PS2 classics are available on PSN,but that doesn't mean PS2 games cannot be remastered,(Remember KH 1.5 and Final Fantasy X/X-2 hd). They don't have to put the entire Gamecube library on the e-shop.

I would love Gamecube games on Wii U, but it seems like it is going to take a while.
