*Ok so background is my Ex is the prettiest white girl in my grade and my new girlfriend is prettiest black girl in the grade and we recently just started dating also if this comes off as offensive to any females here I am sorry*

 

My question is why is my Ex so nice to me now all of a sudden? Like before she would avoid eye-contact and just be kinda aloof(We both have the same group of friends) but now since I have a new girlfriend(Who's a top student,athlete, and Bleach/Anime fan and Gamer) lately my Ex has been all nice like compliments, asking me to text her later, and saying things are a Robin(old couple name) or US thing. I'm sorry if this seems sporadic. I'm just surprised at how nice she's being to me. I just need some help sorting through this. Lol I'm pretty clueless  :tongue:

Hmmm. I don't know honestly. I mean if I were her id just be trying to be your friend cause it aint worth it losing a person over a failed relationship. But you never know other peoples' motives, so...yeah.

 

Idk, don't worry about your ex. Worry about your CURRENT gf and make sure she doesn't feel inadequate or jealous of your ex, imo. All girls want is to be reassured, haha :B

Something to do with the mentality of "Hey! Some other girl likes him. Maybe he has a desirable attribute/quality that I overlooked, and I can't let others get that." It would explain why singles are avoided like the plague, but those in relationships attract more of the opposite gender.

2. She's happy that you've gotten together with someone else better for you and is trying to become friends with you again.

Wouldn't a variation on 2 be for his situation be: She still liked you as a friend after you two broke up, but she didn't know how to be your friend without being drawn back into going out with you. Though since you are dating someone else, the risk for that is substantially lower so she is trying to act like a friend.

tbh I don't think it's because she likes you again. In my experience, it's usually a relief when an ex finds a new boyfriend/girlfriend, because then you can talk to them etc. without it being awkward or, as Tigerruss pointed out, making it less likely to slide into an uncomfortable "are you back together"/get together again situation.
