The Positive Side to Being a Wii U Owner

This still hasn’t even touched on my absolute favorite feature—the GamePad. I know many don’t understand the appeal, but myself as a father of two have really come to appreciate what it offers me. Right off the bat I can play games I normally wouldn’t be able to when the children are home, because Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag can be played remotely. Just toss on a pair of headphones and I am golden as the kids watch a movie on Netlfix. It’s a feature I have only grown to appreciate more as time as moved on. What about playing multiplayer games? I’ve had my friend Eric over for some Call of Duty: Ghosts sessions and outside of creating more precise controls in general compared to other consoles, we each have our own screen to play on locally. It allows both of us to play to our maximum potential (even if we do flip a coin over who gets to use the TV). At the end of the day, this is still far better than splitting my TV screen in half.

The Wii U is a great console, and just because others can’t see it doesn’t mean I don’t. I can accept the game droughts, because the games offered to this point are so replayable that I don’t feel the need for something new every week. Sure, maybe I just get that fix on other hardware, but the Wii U feels like my home, and everything else is just supporting it. The Wii U isn’t my second console, it’s my first console, with the Xbox One being my second and my PC being my 3rd. Wii U leads my living room, and likely will until Nintendo stops supporting it.

I think the Wii U is eight years too late and that it sucks. But hey, that's just me. You can play your Nintendo games.

The Wii U is a great idea. It just isn't a power house like the PS4 or Xbox One and that is its main problem. Because of this less multiplatform games are going to come to it. Also developers have way more to work with when it comes to these "next-gen" platforms.Maybe Nintendo will go all out on their next console. Even if it is only as powerful as the PS4 is now that is more than enough to design amazing games.

You don't own a Wii U, how can you say it sucks? The technology isn't on par with the two consoles it's competing against but it is far from an awful console.

I don't like any games on it, and it's hardware sucks in comparison to the others. Nothing there for me.
