I've gotten the airship, so how long do I have left in FINAL FANTASY IV?

I´ll respond with this just for fun. Which airship? :)

I'm supposed to go get the Earth Crystal now.

You're maybe 1/4 of the way through at best. Still have a long way to go.

And I felt deeper into the game....

There's 3 overworlds in FFIV, so you still have a while to go.

Yeah awhile...I'm at the Giant of Bail which I heard is near the end of the game. But yeah you got a ways to go.

To be fair the moon isn't really big compared to the overworld and the underworld so the moon will probably be short

The Underworld however is the most important area in the game imo because it has three summons you can get

Leviathan and Asura in the Feymarch

And the Sylphs in the Sylph cave once you complete a sidequest related to Yang

Leviathan can be really useful up until you get Bahamut from the Lair of the Father in the moon

Oh c´mon guys, don´t spoil Sora96. ;) Anyway, you will own 3 airships so... have fun in the 3/4 remain of the game :D

It's a pretty long game, and let's just say that you have quite a long ways to go yet.  It definitely gets better, though, so hang in there!  By the way, which version of IV are you playing?

Android, basically an updated version of the DS remake.

Ah, very cool!  I've played the SNES and DS version and, while the DS remake was cool, I still felt the original was far better.  A few plot points changed, though for the most part the game remained the same.  What do you think of it so far?

Very good, much better than the first III.

...what plot points? DS/iOS/whatever is the definitive version of the game, ie. what they intended it to be.

Let's see . . .   The additional scene of Kain and Cecil's childhood, for one, and I believe there was one area on the path to the Eidolans had changed as well.  I apologize; it's been years since I've played the DS version, and at least six years since I've played the SNES one, so my memory is a bit sketchy on these details.  There were other scenes, but I can't remember them off the top of my head.  I too had heard that they had to shorten the SNES version due to constraints, to the point that even the dialogue had to be pared down.

The scene near the end of the game? Not really a change so much as an addition...IIRC the original Japanese had that plot point planned but didn't make it in due to, as you said, constraints. There's a bunch of minor stuff removed in the transition from JP to EN as well.

(or maybe you're talking about the reminiscence conversation in Baron at the start of the game, which was in the original JP but removed from US SNES)

(that said, we should probably take this discussion to PM to avoid spoiling any further)

I'm impressed by how well-versed you are in this game; it would seem that you're also a big fan of the game, much like myself. ; )  Anyhow, yes, discussing too many plot points would indeed be unfair to those who haven't played the game yet.  I stand corrected, however.  The more that I think about it, it would seem that they were more so additions than actual changes, though after playing the SNES version it just seemed drastically different in some areas.

I also felt the same, however, the changes in the DS version helps a lot and also don´t affect at all the storyline, instead it makes it a little more deep you know?... Even so, Zemus is still on my - Ramdom final bosses - List xD
