I'm now at the point where we meet Sabin and later on the party gets separated after that raft segment and I'm loving every second of this game so far.

 

Also,this soundtrack right here sealed it for me.Nobou Uematsu if officially my favorite video game composer of all time

Though one thing,if you're gonna play FF6....DON'T PLAY THE PS1 VERSION AT ALL!!!

 

For some reason this version has slowdowns everytime you save the game,the transition to battles is slower than the SNES version by a lot and the possible glitches that you can encounter in the PS1 version are more than the SNES version

 

Just pick the SNES,GBA or the Virtual console version of the game.The only reason I got the PSP version just because of the convenience of having it on my PsP.....I tried the iOSAndroid version from my friend's iOS and it felt so awkward to control and the new sprites are weird and not as appealing to me as the FFIV PsP version sprites

 

I have the Virtual ConsoleGBA and PS1 version of the game currently

 

I'll alternate between FFVI and FFX as of now so it might take sometime for me before I attempt to review VI....I might finish 9 first so I hope you guys are looking forward to that.....assuming I have any degree of well-known to begin with

I'm currently at the Returners hideout and didn't realize that you can actually get the Genji gloves from Banon if you said no to him three times....I feel stupid for missing this...I just said yes from the first time....but hey this my first time playing the game so I'm bound to miss things like this

I did the same the first time... in that time... I didn´t have guides or anything like that,... it was like 8 years ago when i got informed about it...

I know; I didn't want to refuse Banon's plea either the first time that I played it.  I guess I have too much sympathy for rebels, or just overall despise giving anyone a hard time. : P  The music in the hideout is awesome, and trust me when I say you're in for a treat a few hours more into the game. ; )  There's one specific building that you visit which is incredible, though I won't offer anymore details lest I accidentally spoil anything.

 

Just a word of caution: be sure that you're at a high enough level before proceeding with Banon and saving, as there's a way that you can literally get stuck for being on too low of a level.

Oh, right. I thought you meant the whole party. Haven't played in a while. Level 10-12 is fine for him, so it's not much leveling if at all (OP clearly isn't doing a LLG).

I've just defeated Ultros and may I say that Sabin is the most awesome Monk in the history of everything right alongside Yang from FF4

I hope Square Enix makes a 3DS remake of FFVI. FFVI is one my favorite games in the series.

I'll try to not spoil you, but  after the first half of the game, you'll have a cohice, one can get you losing shadow forever, but it'll be a little obious.

Also, have you got to an area where you can't leave for  story reasons? if that so, he won't leave randdomaly after random encounters, just try to escapse battles and not getting them too much.

Also, just use a guide, if you are using the advance version you have action's guide from gamefaqs, if not, well you can use it, he barley spoil, only things like "you can recuit that character at X" or "X will leave your party, so make sure unequip him", or  just what I told you about shadow.

I've finished Locke and Celes's party,then I went to Sabin,Cyan and Gau

Oh, yes, Kefka's the best. : P  I disliked what they did to him in Dissidia, but that's another subject for another time, methinks.  They also changed his final lines before engaging him in battle, which I didn't care for all too heavily.  I preferred his original quote better.  Locke's also an incredible character; gotta love the terrible thief!
