Nomura has to implement death in KH sooner or later

Posted

And before you say he can't.Dude Disney movies had many death scenes and some of them are even shown in KH like the death of Mufasa in the Lion King has been shown in the Pridelands's opening in KH2

Heck,Barbossa has been killed at the end of Pirate of the Carribean's  Port Royal in KH2

And I know I know that Kerchak's death scene has been totally retconned in KH1's deep jungle, but Clayton did die

I doubt that every single person in the Kh universe who gets killed become a heartless and a nobody,it has to be limited to the mechanics that had been introduced about their birth in the previous games

Someone has to die, sacrifices have to be made...Eraqus should stay dead and never come back otherwise it'll be(spoiler in white) like how Hope's mother was brought back to life in Shitning Returns FFXIII and I don't want any inspiration from that piece of shit to be in my Kingdom Hearts

Disney isn't new to the subject of death as so many Disney movies had their own death scenes. And Kingdom Hearts has to let someone die if they want to keep the story going and have more chances to introduce more characters to the series

I don't think he has to do anything.

All I know is that for the Xehanort Saga they need to stop him for good.

And two ways that could happen (more exist), is some how he turns "good" again, or he dies.

I honestly would prefer the later, but I am not opposed to other options. I honestly don't care if he kills original characters or not. (depending on which ones) I just hope he doesn't do something idiotic.

Sora and Kairi would kill mutilate Xehanort if their best friend died D: Then cry in front of everyone Then everyone would cry with them Then every fan playing the game would cry Feels

That's my point if anything was going to make sora act mor grown up what better thing than the death of his beast friend

Riku and Kairi are best friends too you know ;I

But yeah i see you're point. I don't want Riku to die though, and who knows what dawnstar would do If  that happened :C

Disney do hate death though, you'll always find characters living on in some way in their things.

Tell that to a few of their animated Disney movies.

Seriously some KH fans have death fetish or something lol.

I have a death fetish?the f***????

Am I the only one here that plays RPGs that isn't KH?

Mufasa in the Lion King died and never came back

Kerchak in Tarzan died and never came back

Lee Chang's father in Mulan died and never came back

I can go on and on but the bottomline is some of Disney;s animated movies are really known for their emotional death scenes

A lot of the time. Death seems pointless and seems to be lazy writing. Same goes with things being "darker". What is interesting is making a story different than other stories around. Kingdom Hearts is a fun light hearted game with a serious tone. Which makes it more unique and enjoyable. Every other game out there (pretty much) is more dark. It just gets boring. I don't see why KH needs to be more like everything else out there.

Umm you totally missed the point. I never said darker and I never meant edgier or more hardcore.Death isn't pointless in fact it's really commonly known in Disney movies and that didn't make Lion King dark when Mufasa died or Tarzan darker when Kerchak died or Bambi darker when his mother died

If anything it makes you appreciate a character for it's noble sacrifice and make you relate more to the character it sacrificed itself to protect

How can I feel sad if everyone is gonna come back DBZ fashion? That makes sacrifices that was made by characters in the series absolutely pointless

It's not like I'm saying something new,Disney movies did have many emotional death scenes and they did over and over again.

How should I feel sad for Eraqus if he's gonna come back anyway?how should I feel sad for Ansem the Wise who sacrificed himself to blow up Xemnas's artificial KH...only to survive anyway and live with amnesia with little to no reason to keep him in the story?

Y'know what? f*** it this fanbase doesn't accept criticism for the series

I personally thought there should be a death 'cause it's at a point now if anyone dies it's like "Oh they'll be a heartless and a nobody, just kill them and bring them back to life!".  Death has lost meaning in the series and you would look at it like oh, wonder when they'll pop up again.  I personally thought one of TAV should die (Terra specifically, since he has already been a heartless and a nobody and it doesn't work twice far as I know).  More drama would be Kairi or Riku (since Sora will always be the main protagonist)

THIS

As long as my boy Riku doesn't get offed, I think I can live with more deaths.

Though, really, the concept of death is really skewed in this series. People don't actually "die", their Hearts are carried away to the Realm of Darkness and can be reborn just as easily as long as their Hearts and whatever is left over (A Nobody, or in Terra's case (I guess) his Will in the Keyblade Armor) are brought back together. Hell, the main villain of this series had his Heartless AND his Nobody killed... and yet he was able to come back to life. And if that's not bad enough, his younger self from the past came in to throw yet another monkey wrench into the mix. Geez whiz.

AND THIS

How many times can someone reproduce a heartless or a nobody everytime they die??

This is like if Tellah from FF4 or Aerith from FF7 came back to life...which would make their sacrifices absolutely pointless

You know, I like this topic very much.  You touch on some very true aspects, because it is true that in Disney films, characters do die, and some of the more graphic deaths are shown from another perspective as to not disturb the kiddies.  But yes, I agree that there should be more deaths in the series, but in a way that seems emotional and full of impact rather than forced or tacked on.  If there are to be deaths, they have to make them resonate with the player in a way that is unforgettable. For instance, I keep on thinking that in Kingdom Hearts 3, during the final battle with Master Xehanort, something will inevitably happen that leaves our heroes hanging by a thread, and then Terra, seeing the opportunity to redeem himself for everything that his submission to darkness caused, selflessly gives his own life to give Sora and friends one last chance to take out the evil mastermind.  Other than that, I can't imagine of any other of the characters dying.  But yeah, Nomura being the smart troll he is, I'm sure he'll pull something unexpected and slap us in the face and say: "Haha mother lovers, you weren't expecting this!  This is your reward for waiting for KH3!"  We will hate him for it, and we will love him for it, lol.   xD

That's exactly what I meant my friend

The part about it being darker was directed at other people in this thread.

Death in a series like this is usually pretty cheap and trying to force people to feel something. It is just pointless to me.

Also, I criticise this series all the time. haha

No it's not cheap and it's not pointless,it becomes pointless whenever a character dies and then THEY BRING IT BACK TO LIFE IMMEDIATELY AFTER....THIS IS KH NOT DRAGON BALL Z.

Disney had many deaths in their movies like Mufasa's death,Kerchak's Death and Bambi's Mother's death

And don't get me started on the death of Tellah in Final Fantasy 4,Aerith's death in FF7 and Zack's death in Crisis Core and how memorable they were and how they served as yet another reason to relate to the main character.

Death itself doesn't force the feelings,it's the implementation of how a character dies that gives you the feels

Otherwise every character in the KH series is Krillin:Died once or twice?Don't worry we have the perfect plot device to bring you back

Sure you look like you can accept criticism but look around you at the people who went ballistic and insane the moment I criticized something and wanted it to improve

Do you guys have a hard time understanding what Red Tribal is saying? sometimes death in movies/games can help a certain character reach there full potential, and in the end become a better person. It's not a hard concept to understand, so dont look at it like something that shouldn't happen, but something that can make the characters lifes that much better and stronger.
