anyone know what happened to Sora and Riku's parents?

their never mentioned at all even when destiny islands was destroyed

i remember hearing Sora's mom say something to him early in KH1 but thats about it

Also,do you think they might have more of a role in future games?

i would like to learn more about Riku's parents

they forgot about him in chains and they dont say anything about them in kh2 and i think kingdom hearts isnt family related i think

But, family isn't important in Kingdom Hearts.

I don't think they are really important. Sora doesn't even try to look for them or even wonders what happened to them (guess Sora hates his parents lol). They aren't even listed in Jimmy's journal.

Whoa, didn't see that one coming from a Disney game. KH seems to be really into friendship though, you'd think family might have been mentioned important too.oh well

You never know, they may be mentioned in KH3 where Destiny Islands could be the tutorial level again. But personally i don't see it happening :

Even though the family hasn't been important in the KH series I have a feeling that Sora's parents will take an important role in future games... I mean they were mentioned so, why would they be mentioned if they weren't to be important?? There's no need if they are not going to appear, but if they are referenced is because Nomura took the time to do it and he wanted us to think about it...

If Sora's mom was heard before could be coincidence but now that his father was mentioned (damn spoilers) I can think is because they have something to do...

if soras dad was mentioned in kh bbs then think of what they could do with that i mean soras dad could have had a great adventer and that leaves gate ways to new games lol

Sora has parents because it would strange if a 14 year old didn't have parents. By giving him regular parents, they don't have to explain why he doesn't

Family isn't important to them. It might be to Riku tho, cause at the end of KH2, before the final fight, he talks about if they lose they'll never see their family again.

Well my brother and I imagine that soras reunion would go something like this.

Mom: Sora you're grounded!

Sora: Awww, why?

Mom: Because you left your clothes on the floor!

Sora: Aww... Okay... but what about me being gone for a year?

Mom: What?

Sora: Nothing...

Mom: No Bionicles for a week!

Other than that I don't know...

In Terra's scenario, when he goes to Destiny Islands, Riku tells Terra that Sora's dad brought them over to the play island because they're too young to go by themselves. He really didn't have a big part at all.
