Thought Square Enix were done porting FINAL FANTASY IV? Think again. Square Enix is following the exact same pattern they've been doing for FINAL FANTASY III for FINAL FANTASY IV.
FINAL FANTASY III is available on DS, iOS, PSP, Android, Amazon Appstore, Ouya, Windows Phone and soon PC. And I'm sure a lot of people would love for it to be released on the PlayStation Store for PlayStation 3 & maybe 4. And then they'll probably release it on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Wii U (through DS emulation) and you'd hope Nintendo 3DS.
FINAL FANTASY IV is available on DS, iOS, Android & the Amazon Appstore. It's safe to assume that they'll port it to Ouya, Windows Phone and PC. And again like III, you'd hope for similar PlayStation Store and Nintendo eShop releases.
And after that? They'll probably do the same for The After Years and hopefully a 3D remake of Interlude. They could also go down the path of FINAL FANTASY IV: The Complete Collection 3D for PlayStation Vita and possibly other platforms and FINAL FANTASY IV: The After Years+ for Nintendo 3DS.
It would seem like Square Enix made the iOS versions in mind for easily porting to other platforms.
I can't see them doing this for FINAL FANTASY and FINAL FANTASY II, at least not yet. They haven't released actual iPad versions, didn't add the bonus dungeons to the Android version of FINAL FANTASY and didn't even port FINAL FANTASY II to Windows Phone, they literally skipped it. My best guess? They're planning on remaking them again...
As for FINAL FANTASY V and FINAL FANTASY VI....it wouldn't surprise me if they port the iOS & Android versions to the Amazon Appstore, Ouya, Windows Phone and even PC. Which of course isn't what we want...we want remakes like the ones III and IV got. Problem with that is the people who we'd most want to do the remakes either hasn't been heard from since like 2007 and the other one produces all the big new games and movies.
Note: what's discussed above does not include NES, SNES, PSOne, GBA or 2D PSP games. I do however believe all the NES, SNES and GBA games should be available to emulate on Wii U & 3DS. While the PSOne games should all be available to emulate on PS4, PS3, PS Vita & PSP.
