I said it was "good for it's time" I didn't say it was good story for all the times

 

Back then video games didn't have stories further than beat Bowser,Beat Dr Wily and Dracula and it was surprising back then to see a story-oriented game like that back in the day especially since most Dragon Quest games weren't released outside of Japan

 

without FF1 there would've never been a Square or Kingdom Hearts

Red Tribal recently wrote a massive review talking about his hate for LIGHTNING RETURNS: FINAL FANTASY XIII. So clearly he sees all of the so called flaws you've just announced.

This thread is not about Lightning Returns. 

And Final Fantasy 1 is the most flawed and useless game in the whole series. No story, no likeable/interesting characters...

Why play the damn thing at all?

heck I keep on saying that LRFFXIII is the worst RPG ever played,I keep criticizing FF8,X-2 and the XIII trilogy all the time....IS THAT FANBOYISM WHEN I CRITICIZE A GAME???

IT'S THE FIRST GAME IN THE WHOLE SERIES AND IT WAS RELEASED IN 1987. NOT TO MENTION IF IT WASN'T FOR FINAL FANTASY, Kingdom Hearts WOULD NEVER EXIST.

It was a product of it's time so it won't age well,if I would play FF1 again I'll play the GBAPSP remastered versions of the game that added new dungeons and fixed all the glitches of the original.

 

Heck if you want the true FF1 experience play the PSPGBA versions,the NES version had done it's job when it was released in 1987....saving Square from bankruptcy
