Posted May 3, 201411 yr Matt Smith, famous for playing 'Doctor Who' in the long-running TV show, has joined the cast of the fifth ‘Terminator’ film. In a Facebook post, Skydance Productions wrote: “We don't have a TARDIS, but we do have a Time Lord: Matt Smith is joining the cast of #Terminator, and John Connor is VERY happy about it.” [Mind-blowing Terminator 5 twist planned?] In a statement, Paramount said: “Smith will play a new character with a strong connection to John Connor, alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Clarke, Emilia Clarke, Jai Courtney, J.K. Simmons, Dayo Okeniyi and Byung Hun Lee.” Thanks to Yahoo Movies UK.
May 3, 201411 yr interesting, and it is said that Matt Smith's character will have a strong role towards the Terminator. Could it be that he is the person who created the Terminator?
May 3, 201411 yr It's a reboot. Coming out next year. WaitwaitwaitwaitWAIT......WAIT. A "reboot"? What's this about a reboot? I thought they were going to follow the events of Salvation? I mean...time travel and all that, I know, but aren't they going to finish off the CURRENT storyarch before they redo everything!?....not that I'm not happy for Matt Smith being part of the cast, but still, what's the deal on this movie?

If we're taking this at face value: http://www.cinemablend.com/new/How-Terminator-Genesis-Connect-James-Cameron-Original-Film-42830.html Then Terminator: Genesis is a sequel that technically takes concurrently to the original. Kind of like Back to the Future Part II in some areas. I guess. Edited May 3, 201411 yr by Kaweebo

So it's like a sequel prequel.
