Nintendo actually made their own website for the 1DS either as an April Fools' Day prank or to make a joke for the 2DS That wasn't Nintendo themselves, that was a joke made by fans if I remember correctly. They made it look like a Nintendo page, like how someone made a Steam store page for Half Life 2: Episode 3 last year.
