TLOZ: Who doesn't care about how ZeldaU's graphics will look like?

Posted

I don't care about the graphics in ZeldaU because in my opinion the story is better than the graphics. Heck zeldaU could look like the wind waker graphics again if nintendo decides to go in that direction.Sometimes the story can overrun the graphics in the game. In some people's opinions they thought that the wind waker's graphics looked horrible when it came out on the gamecube because it looked like it was for little kids. I thought it was for little kids too, but at least at had a story to tell.

Well I'm sure the graphics will be good so no worries there,I'm more interested on how the story is gonna be and in which timeline it'll occur, and I wanna see the new twists that Eiji Aonuma said he'll add to the gameplay

I don't.

Years ago people didn't liked the change Link had in Wind Waker, but the game was good.

Of course story is important, but why shouldn't Zelda U take full advantage of the Wii U's graphics? Visuals are what help make modern games feel so cinematic and lifelike, which only serves to boost the atmosphere of the world to be explored. Pair that with a solid story and you end up with something spectacular and memorable.

He did say that ZeldaU will be different from his past zelda titles.

I just hope he won't turn it into a Skyrim clone as I've heard that he was playing Skyrim last year or the year before it so it might have an influence on the upcoming Zelda game....that's just my speculation though

I usually never care about graphics, but I have to admit that I would be a little disappointed if the new Zelda game doesn't have realistic looking graphics like Twilight Princess. We got enough cartoon graphics with Wind Waker,Skyward Sword and all the handheld games.

I would be a little disappointed too. I'm not saying that I hate cartoony graphics it's that zeldaU could be better than that.

I do want zeldaU to take full advantage of the WiiU's graphics and capabilities because these are the factors that will make zeldaU different from any other zelda game.

Art Style and Graphics are two different things. Aonuma noted that the art style for this title is entirely new. I'm not worried about the way it looks, but I'm excited to find out what the new art style chosen is.

What is the differences between an art style and graphics in zelda games? I never thought that they where two totally different things.

Art style would be things such as Twilight Princess' Realism or The Wind Waker's Cel-shading. Graphics are numbers or measurements used to define how detailed something in the game can be. To put it simply, Skyward Sword was graphically superior to Twilight Princess in terms that it had better textures, more polygons, more elaborate animations, etc.

I'm interested in seeing what it looks like, but I don't think I'll have much of an opinion on it other than 'Ooh look, new Zelda!'

Not everyone cares about a game being lifelike or cinematic. : FFVI is a 16-bit game, and I find it way more immersive than most games these days.

I'm talking in terms of atmosphere. It's where visuals usually play a huge hand.

I could still get a really good feel of FFVI's atmosphere, and a lot of other older games. Modern games that are realistic honestly just feel like "Oh, everything is dark and boring." I prefer something more stylized, or something not realistic. I find more enjoyment in games like that.

I suppose it really depends on the game, the mood and setting, characters, etc. I prefer visuals that can either compliment the story or make the gameplay experience more enticing. There has to be some kind of balance, by my standards.

As far as Zelda U is concerned, I'm counting on a visually pleasing experience. Not necessarily for the sake of eye-candy, but simply because... well... it can! It won't take away from any of the game's other elements. In fact, many of the quality games I've purchased for the Wii U are so fun because they cater to the imagination with such colorfully enriching environments while still retaining so much classic charm and replay value. Again, it's all about balance for me. I feel that each area of a game's development (graphics, story, gameplay mechanics, etc.) should be utilized to their full potential, whenever possible.

Zelda U will have visually pleasing textures, but the art style chosen is unknown. In fact, the only thing we know about it, is that Aonuma has chosen an art style never before seen in a Zelda title. Basically, this isn't Twilight Princess' Realistic appearance, but it's also not Cel-shaded in a cartoony manner like The Wind Waker was. I for one was unsatisfied with the Realism art style used for Twilight Princess.
