Zelda's going Gold and hinting to Zelda U in some way?

Posted

I just noticed that the covers of the recent Legend of Zelda games had a gold coloring to it and I was thinking that it could possibly hint to Zelda U. The Wind Waker HD had a gold cover and so did A Link Between Worlds. Maybe Zelda U might have something to do with gold? I haven't played either of them so, who knows? I'm making a prediction. Maybe Hyrule Warriors will have gold for the cover too?

The covers for the games are different in other countries.

Nah, it's just the NA boxart chosen for the titles. It's nothing important. Skyward Sword had a Gold cover as well.

Amnd don't forget that the original and 3DS remake of OoT had gold box arts too. But like the others said, I don;t think this is any kind of hint to the next Zelda game.

Im pretty sure the first zelda game had its cartridge gold,so is the pattern of it happening recently saying much? Its probably just cause Nintendo think it looks cool so they slap some gold on it.

Gold has always been a pretty important color in the Zelda universe, so its really no surprise. In fact, aside from Majora's Mask, oracle of ages/seasons, and four swords adventures all of the NA box arts have featured yellow or gold

It's not. It's just a sort of tradition in North America for Zelda games to have gold-themed box artwork. Started with Ocarina of Time and NOA brought it back recently for some reason.

No, this is a tradition. However, there is a rumor of a Zelda game for the Wii U that is going to be called The Legend of Zelda: Shard of Nightmare. I'd say its a bit of a corny title, but Twilight Princess stuck .

Probably fake though so take it with a grain of salt.

Gold is pretty much the theme color for the entire Zelda series because it's the color of the Triforce.

Because gold is shiny and will attract more fish customers....I'm assuming.

I mean come on, sure you might be a fan of the games anyway, but why wouldn't you get something in that color!?  0/*

Why are people saying it's just NA tradition for it to be gold, pretty much everywhere has the gold version bar Japan, and me being in the EU zone, my version of ALBW has both the gold toned and coloured version, the cover slips reversible to put whichever one you like out.

In general I would agree that Gold is a theme in Zelda given the color of the Triforce, but I think it has more to do with Gold being an attractive color to bait customers, especially in Wind Waker HD's version, looks much nicer in it's original colouring IMO since it gives off the sea feeling, the gold background makes me think "Look at my shiny cover look at it".

I usually say English/Western releases, but I dun pay much attention to box art around each region.
