Posted June 11, 201411 yr I find this really strange http://www.nintendo-insider.com/2014/06/11/aonuma-zelda-wii-u-trailer-no-one-explicitly-said-link/ What do you think about this? Remember that this came from Aonuma's mouth.
June 11, 201411 yr I figured as much. Just didn't look like him. Maybe he's a new protagonist for the series?
June 11, 201411 yr Yes, but it also wasn't stated that the character wasn't Link. He also responded to the connection between Link's pajamas in WW. Basically, this could be Link (even as far as a more mature WW Link), this could be Zelda (as the character has an extremely feminine appearance), or if it has anything to do with WW, it could even be Aryll as the ponytail in the back is held together by a blue band, just like the ones used for her pigtails when she was 8. June 11, 201411 yr Author I figured as much. Just didn't look like him. Maybe he's a new protagonist for the series? Maybe he could be the hero of men that was mentioned in the Minish Cap.
June 11, 201411 yr I wouldn't be surprised if it was a matured Toon Link. Especially after the success of The Wind Waker HD And on the off chance (while I don't see it) Link is female in this game, that be pretty dang cool too. So either way, I am DOWN with the clowning. June 11, 201411 yr I see a rose pink tone on the cheeks. Similar to Aryll's rosy cheeks. I can't help but feel we're getting a bigger continuation into the Wind Waker's timeline, and Link hasn't been seen yet. I officially believe this is a girl, and it is Aryll. It makes sense she's similar in appearance since they're siblings. Aonuma really went for the speculation with the reveal here. Left home with Grandma for so long, it became her task to take care of everyone on Outset, eventually using her own boat to sail out to the new world discovered by Link and Tetra. Upon her arrival, Aryll discovers the dangers of the world and its threat to to islands among the Great Sea, she tasks herself with finding her older brother for help. She doesn't need the proper training to use a Sword and Shield, having taken on the same master as Link in her earlier years among Outset without him. Her quiver rests around her waist, as seen in the trailer, and she probably has some sort of shooting training somewhere before she made it to the new world. My only problem with this theory is that the environment didn't really look like one of Wind Waker's islands, it looked too large. Older Aryll would be really cool, though.

Just sayin'. I think this is Link from the Wind Waker timeline....a.k.a Adult Toon Link That's what I was thinking. Why do so many people think it's a girl? Link has always had that hairstyle, and has always had earrings (at least since oot). Also girls have breasts. Even in the Zelda universe, they do.

Flat chested is a thing y'know...Apparently in order to be considered a female in any media you have to appeal to the sexist view of having some form of boobs. Or it could be a girl pretending to be a male, hiding the apparently required breasts under some kind of restraints, such as bandages. My only problem with this theory is that the environment didn't really look like one of Wind Waker's islands, it looked too large. Older Aryll would be really cool, though. This isn't an ordinary island. This is the New World. The next Hyrule discovered by Link and Tetra. Edited June 11, 201411 yr by Hero of Winds
June 11, 201411 yr Flat chested is a thing y'know... This isn't an ordinary island. This is the New World. The next Hyrule discovered by Link and Tetra. It's human biology for there to be some kind of breast on the female. June 11, 201411 yr Flat chested is a form of it, just saying. Researched it. Being flat chested is just a way of saying a girl is really small. Their breasts are typically just really small. But this is not a girl I know that much. Edited June 11, 201411 yr by Cucco

I agree. Maybe instead of saying that "Link" is a girl maybe he is the hero of men from the minish cap. http://zeldawiki.org/Hero_of_Men#A_Separate_Incarnation_of_Link
June 11, 201411 yr Someone pointed out to me that there's a similarity between what the character was wearing and what Ganondorf is wearing here. Can you guys figure out what it is?

June 11, 201411 yr I think it has to do with his cap. Nope, take another look at the "hero" from this trailer.
June 11, 201411 yr Author Nope, take another look at the "hero" from this trailer. Is it the thing that is around the "hero" and ganondorf's arms? They are sort of similar.
June 11, 201411 yr Is it the thing that is around the "hero" and ganondorf's arms? They are sort of similar. Yep. They're pretty similar. I dunno if that's important, but it's definitely worth looking at.
