Have you ever tried to catch specific Pokémons with specific Poké Balls?

Posted

A challenge I was introduced to back when I first got SoulSilver was to catch all of the avaiable legendaries in the game with Poké Balls matching to their colors.

Example: Suicune with Great Balls, Ho-Oh with Poké Balls.

Have you ever tried to do sometthing like that?

Not really, I really just use Ultra Balls.

Not EXAAAACTLY.

But it's interesting.

If it's a weak Pokemon (like one that is easy to catch), then I use whatever ball I feel like using. If it is a Pokemon that is not to easy to catch but not to hard, then I use something like a Great Ball or Ultra Ball. And if it's a legendary, then Ultra Balls it is! And if it is that one special legendary that I really want but has trouble getting into the ball, then I use my Master Ball!

Matching Pokeballs, as always. Matching as in the color schemes of the Pokeball and Pokemon I capture. For example, shiny Latios in a Dive Ball, shiny Mawile in a Love Ball, etc. (Sometimes I tend to capture a 2nd batch in a different Pokeball since there is times x Pokemon has more than 1 matching Pokeball.)

I usually go for the theme, so a Dusk Ball for Eevee to match with Umbreon's typing. I used a Dusk Ball for Zygarde in X, an Ultra Ball for Xerneas and then had no clue about the Master Ball not being able to pass with breeding, so I ended up using it on a female Eevee, expecting to breed Master Ball Eevees for the different evolutions. Unfortunately that's not possible, as I stated previously. Either way, the Master Ball is useless to me anyway.

As soon as I can buy ultra balls that's all I buy! It sounds like a fun challenge but I don't have the patience for something like that lol.

I'm am so guilty of catching Pokemon in matching Pokeballs xD

I don't do that, but I always try to catch legendaries in standard Pokeballs (Slipped up on that with a few in X/Y, though). Ultra Balls are boring.

I've done it on a few occasions. I've used a Premier ball on both an Eevee and Trapinch specifically so I can have both Espeon and Flygon come out of a Premier ball (I like the simple design of it).

I remember using the Master ball on a level 2 Bidoof in Pokemon Diamond, but that was because I didn't really need it. xD

Sometimes I'll try to catch a Pokemon with a ball that best matches it's color scheme or the pokemon's theme, other times I'll just through whatever I think will catch it the fastest (so, normally, Ultra or Dusk Balls).

Oh, and y'all shouldn't be so eager to waste those Master Balls you have no use for. Save it in-case you ever come across a self-destructing shiny, or something like that... (Yes, that is speaking from experience.)
