At four points around the mountain known as Evraius the Teragren captains went over the situation once more to be sure there was no confusion; this was a volunteer mission, there was a high risk of death, and once the climbers passed the Teragen gates onto the premises of Evraius they were no longer under the protection of the Teragren army, and nobody would help but the rest of their team members.Of the 19 volunteers that passed the test to be accepted into the Evraius mission there were now four teams, each of 4 or 5 people. The army had brought them to the four gates that separated Evraius from the Kingdom of Teragren. The strategy was that they may be more effective if they could split the Kamyn attention and thus have a better survival rate. Now the four teams sat at their respective gates, facing the world changing mountain that would be their future; Evraius. The teams were split up in the following ways:Gold Team, made up of Drale Vay, Amber Dolor, Cornelius Bastion, and Sandrew.Silver Team, made up of Sonya Bishop, Kinzoku Mors, Averain, and Jasper SummersIron Team, made up of Alice Thornsberry, Emert Berger, Morgan Etiam Vinctum, and Doctor Pellinore WartropPlatinum Team, made up of Apollo, Lance Alburght, Varion Hain, Fairy, Aya Kozakura, Sairi KozakuraEach of the gates rumbled opened painfully and slowly, with a history of destruction and cruelty beyond their metal bars."Okay." Each captain spoke to the respective teams as they mounted their horses once again and steered back toward the road."You all have 5 minutes to greet your new teammates and enter the gates. The magical locks will automatically close them again after that point. There won't be any returning until you have something substantial to return with." The gist of each captain's parting words were. They had all rehearsed together so the information would be similar for each group. It also helped mask the fear. And then each group was left alone, each with a gate and a beaten dirt path beyond it sitting before them. It was time to start the introductions and get going. It was time to start the climb.Watching every gate through spectral projections, Adriev pondered. He stood in a pure white room with 5 others. After watching the four teams for a few moments he turned to his peers: Efenton, Girver, Dante, and Vortimer. Only one was missing."So..." He spoke slowly, weighing every word. "What shall we do about this?"

Varion:

Varion smiled and nodded at the other team. The Kamyn were up to something...he was sure of it. Nothing hadn't happened so far that wasn't some part of the Kamyns' plan. This was just another step in whatever the Gods were planning.

"Nice to meet you all, I guess. I am Varion, Alchemist and member of the Platinum team! Pleased to meet you all." He said, doing a goofy bow as he grinned. Best to make the first impression as good as possible, he thought, that way it would be easier to ease the tension between them.

Emert:

The Doctor was making some fine points. Cathos was certainly the most suspicious at this point...and it didn't help that his own words went against him. Emert sighed and walked up to the duo. "Allow me to aid in this matter. I am the High Judge--or Judge Magister, as some call it. I shall help settle this matter and dispatch whomever it is of the three of you that is truly the spy."

(I've been meaning to post on this for a while, so I'm just going to add myself back into the timeline.)

When Amber had the spear of light thrown at her, Drale created a shield of darkness, using his shadow, to try and block it from hitting her. However, when he saw that she was being aided by both Ferro and Cornelius, he dropped his shield. When Amber ignored their help, and punched the spear man in his face, Drale ran up, with his shield recreated, hoping to help. When the figure exploded, Drale's shield absorbed most of the heat. After Sandrew collapsed, Drale tried to help, but Cornelius beat him to it. Drale then walked over to the tree Amber was leaning against, and leaned against it himself. "I'm sorry I couldn't help earlier, but I figured you had it handled." He said to Amber.

Jasper

Jasper finished off his peach and glanced at the bag Sanya had given him before she exploded. [Well, I might as well find out what's in this thing.] he thought. Inside was some clothes, neatly folded, along with a locked chest. For a moment, Jasper thought about discarding the cloths and just keeping the bag for carrying things, and the chest for unlocking later. But then he remembered something. Sanya had given him the bag telling him she'd need it later after she chose to sacrifice herself them. Could that mean she planned on surviving the explosion, and then use the spare cloths to redress herself? [but that means she could be alive!] he thought. He wanted to tell his teammates, but decided it was best not to put their hopes up in case he was wrong. Instead, he put everything back the way it was, and filled it even more with some fruit and bandages.

He then looked at what everyone else was doing. [Well, since we're together now, I should probably start getting to know some of the Platinum Team members.] he thought, and walked over to Varion, "Nice to meet you Varion." he said, extending his hand for Varion to shake, "So, did the Kamyn give you much trouble yet?" he asked the Alchemist.

Amber

"Thank you, but I think I'll be okay. I just need to walk it off." Amber said to Cornelius. Fortunately, her ankle didn't seem to bad, and would probably be fine soon. She then noticed Drale standing next to her, and heard what he had to say. It was then she realized something. Ever since they entered the cave, all of them have done all they could to show off what they could do around the others, despite it probably being best to conserve their strength to some extent. Whether they were doing it to impress their teammates, the Kamyn, or themselves was unclear, but it seemed everyone was doing it, herself included. "Don't worry about it, I think everyone's trying to be the hero of the group." she then glance towards the others, "Now if only we could learn to work together..."

Ferro~~~~~

Ferro walked over and joined the group. "I agree, Amber. That combat was pretty messy. I know some things about teamwork. You saw what happened back there. My friends and I have become very good at anticipating each other." "Damn right!" crowed Vell. Ferro continued, "If we could achieve that same level of communication in our group, we would be unstoppable." Ferro took a quick glance at the crew. None of them really had a true defensive ability that did not detract from their offense when used. "In fights, let me take the front and block attacks. I can protect a very large area behind me and break oncoming enemy charges." "Woo, vanguard!" Chips cheered. "Do the rest of you have a role you would be particularly good at in a fight?" Ferro asked. Birgitte chimed in: "Come to think of it, Drale's power and Cornelius's power would mesh well together. One uses light, the other shadow. It is very complementary."

"Griver... Vortimer. I've located Ryu." Adriev spoke coldly as projection of Ryu, now levitating high into the sky appeared in the room. "You both are free to deal with him immediately."

Adriev then spoke directly to Efenton after that. "Efenton. Assist Griver and Vortimer if you are able. I want this traitor finished off before he becomes any more of a bother."

Gold

"Tsk tsk tsk" Adriev's voice spoke in the minds of everyone in or with Gold team. "I thought you're be more decisive than this. I don't want to have to flood this room with poisonous gas. That would be so uneventful..."

"Yes..." He nodded. "Father." He looked around, and walked out. "Father...." He started to ask, but then looked away.

Sanya scowled.

"Please. If you don't sacrifice me, you'll rip each other apart." She moved closer to the man with the sword. "it will be okay. Just do me a favor, and make it a clean kill...and make sure my body...or ashes...get outside that door." her tail flicked around, the tiger instincts and power flowing around her. Nothing she hadn't known...but this form was new...so new...she couldn't reach the rocks around her, this place wasn't of earth. It was enchanted, and everything she felt was very, very bad...

"I don;t like this place. So promise you won't leave me here."

"We are just doing what you can't." Cornelius answered Adriev's voice. "Thinking through things intelligently."

He smiled at his teammates.

"I believe your suggestions are the correct course of action, though we might need to discuss this while we move." He suggested. "That way we can avoid our hosts from getting bored."

Cornelius offered Sandrew a hand up and shoulder to lean on.

"Due to my abilities, I believe I would be best off in the middle or perhaps rear of the group, due to my long range capabilities."

Sandrew stood up, though he was lacking hugely in energy, he leaned on Cornelius with most of his weight on him, which wasn't really all that much. "I... probably should stay in the center... I can make you all stronger and I can fight a little, but I would stay out of the way best from the middle... although I don't know how much energy I can use right now..."

Amber

Amber smiled when she noticed her comment was acknowledged and put into practice by her teammates. "I should probably stay in the front, if that's all right with you guys." she said, hoping her teammates wouldn't think she was being prideful for asking to take the lead. The real reason she wanted to be in the front was so she could keep her distance from the others while in her shadow form so that she didn't accidentally hurt them, and still be useful.

"With pleasure."  Griver responds, swatting the projection with a left swing as he leaves the room.  Outside the base, Griver levitates and heads toward Ryu's location.  On the way there, he thinks:  Ryu.  I'll be sure to show you the consequence of your mistake.

Cornelius, not really use to helping people along physically, stumbled a little after Sandrew put his weight on him. Not that it was much, but it was a little jarring for one who wasn't use to it.

"I certainly don't want to be between you and enemies when you are using your powers." He said, managing a grin at Amber. "Will you be able to move fine? You looked a little spent after that last battle."

He adjusted his stance to better support Sandrew. He considered making some sort of wheelchair or crutch for the young man, but the Young Researcher felt sure he needed to conserve power when he could. This promised to be a long journey.

Suddenly sitting up as if to react to Fairy's words Tristan was up "i would just like to point out I am not passed out I'm just resting you recover better in your sleep so I'm just doing what i need to by the way while i think of it would someone search that dam spiders body before it gets a chance to disappear it was firing off magical like laser beams earlier so its bound to have some form of energy source within its body if we didnt accidentally break that while fighting that thing the power source in it could become a rather useful weapon to use against the Kamyn later down the road" Slowly looking towards Fairy Tristan smirked "by the way if your the healer might i ask you focus on my right shoulder everywhere else is fine I've grown accustom to the side effects of using my strengthening magic so i know the extent of the damage after using it like I did in this fight at most the damage would be some slight muscle tares near the shoulder blade and along the upper part of my right arm focusing on that area should cover me by the way I know it already introduced myself but might as well say this as well I look forward to working with you in order to take down the Kamyn and sorry if i seem like I'm coming on a bit strong and fast but i just feel a little on edge considering every second step seems to be a Kamyn trap lately"

Fairy looked at Tristan. "Don't be such a bossy Jonny,I'll heal you good."She walked over to him."I'm Fairy." She hovered her hands over his right shoulder. Can you stand and if your hungry there is food here and I brought some as well and water." She told him. "In fact we should all eat, rest and get to know each other before we move on." She told everyone.

They're coming..

Ryu sensed three individual Kaymn coming towards his direction. "Seems Adreiv doesn't take me lightly," Ryu joked. "It'd be a little too dangerous to fight here. Oh well. I can't make everything easy for the humans. They can handle a little destruction," Ryu said. With that, he created many storm clouds around the area in which he sensed the Kaymn. "Sky Lightning!" Ryu shouted. Several bolts of lightning could be seen in the distance. "There's a little trial for the gods themselves!" Ryu laughed evilly.

Ferro~~~~~

Seeing Sandrew struggling to walk, Ferro floated a couple of plates over to Sandrew to make another platform for him, if he wished to use it. "So what are we going to do about this button?" he asked after moving to the center of the room. He examined it, but he could tell nothing about its purpose. "I'm going to press it, if no one minds. There's nothing else to do." "I don't know. I think we should wait." said Birgitte. "You heard the Kamyn. He said we would all die if we didn't press it soon!" Vell replied, adding a cackle. Ferro stabbed Birgitte upright into the soil and pressed the button. . .

Looking to Fairy as she offered food Tristan's face completely lit up as he began drooling "Food your offering me food I came on this mission expecting to kill the Kamyn not to fall in love" Tristan a rather quick and deep thinker most of the time he's a determined fighter who doesn't believe in giving up even if he dropped dead but if he had one easy weakness to exploit it would be his love for food just show or offer him food and nine times out of ten you'll have a new ally to your side a rather problematic thing for when a girl offered Tristan food every time he was bound to confess his love to them after being offered truly an idiotic trait but heck nobodies perfect suddenly jumping onto one knee Tristan knelled in front of Fairy "Marry me" Right now if anything Tristan could do with a nice hard blow to the head

Varion:

Varion stepped up to Tristan and gave him a swift, hard smack on the head.

"Oi! Stay away from Fairy, you hear me?" Varion said, putting a hand on his hip, "I don't want to make things tenser than they already are--but stop acting like an idiot or I'll knock you down with a blast of water. Get your head on straight and stay away from her, you hear me? We don't have time for random crap like this."

Varion rarely, if ever, acted like this. But seeing the annoying randomness ticked him off. He didn't need someone random hit on anyone like this--especially when they were asking for marriage.

Instantly recovering after Varions punch Tristan looked around the room with a blank face and then a disappointed one "Crap i went off asking someone to marry me again didnt i" Tristan didnt even need an answer from anyone he could tell by there faces alone "Uh...sorry I'm easily won over by food one of my bad traits ahaha I'll try to not do it again but if anything think of it this way atleast now I've lessened the tension in the room so we can rest with calm hearts and minds for now right much better to relax while laughing over something then stressing over something" Slowly turning to Varion while rubbing his head Tristan spoke "But dam man you trying to injury the injuried party more or something i swear from a reaction like that its as if your married to Fairy here or something hehe or is it you have feelings for the little fairy" moving towards Varion and nudging him slightly Tristan spoke with an amusing voice

Edited by Joemahon1

Fairy felt her face go red."Um...I....um......"Her face went redder. "I..I can't heal like this!" She looked at the two. "S-sorry T,I have already chosen Varrion to marry me~" She said with a giggle. "Now do I need to heal you head?" She asked as she glanced at the male she had claimed.

Crossing his arms disappointed that his joke had failed Tristan looked to Fairy with a smile "Na my heads fine I'm thick skulled or at least i'd want to be considering i signed up for this mission haha but dam the two of you are actually getting married haha i never would of guessed it that kind of makes my joking a minute ago rather pointless although was still good for getting your faces a little red haha" Patting Varion on the shoulder Tristan began to walk towards the store room "Sorry about that man I'll be sure to not try and propose to your fiance again in future no promises if she offers me more food though"

Ferro pressed the button.

"I'm so glad that you all are feeling team oriented. It will make the next trial more fun." Adriev's voice resounded through the grove. Then the grove evaporated away, and the group found themselves in a completely white room. The grass dissolved to a hard white floor, the trees dissipated, and the sky closed off. Around the group 10 poles rose from the ground in a circle around the group, and some sort of magic-based electricity bolted from the tips of each pole towards the group. As the electricity arced between the members every member could begin to feel their magic drifting away with the electricity.

"Let me explain to you this contraption that you've just activated on yourself." The electricity was both painful and draining, and paralyzed every muscle of everyone in the group as it moved through them. "In just a few minutes these arc poles will have sucked all your magic potential from you. After some time you will all slowly regain your powers naturally, but immediately after this I will force you all through some trials that will be... interesting to see you face without powers."

The electricity continued to cut through every member of the group- Ferro, Drale, Amber, Cornelius, Sandrew....

"I have an offer for those of you who have the intelligence and logic to want to stay a live a bit longer, though. Simply speak the words, and I will stop the flow towards you in particular, but not your peers. You will be spared losing any powers or suffering any more pain. However, there is a set potency this contraption has, and it will not be reduced."

Adriev let the potential pervade the room as the electricity kept arcing through them.

"If one person chooses to be let off, the remaining four people will not only lose their powers temporarily, but suffer substantial physical damage as well...."

"If two people choose to be let off, the remaining three people will lose their powers temporarily, suffer damage, and be temporarily paralyzed by the shock...."

"If three people choose to be let off, the remaining two people will suffer damage, be temporarily paralyzed, and permanently lose their magic abilities...."

"And finally if four people choose to be let off, the remaining person will be killed."

The silence was broken up by the crackling of electricity.

"And before you try to be altruistic about it all, realize that if you choose to endure it, you will most likely not survive the next trial, which you will have to contest fully without any aid of magic. After that you should have regained powers, but if not one one you maintains powers for the next trial your mutual is nearly assured, and one is mostly likely not enough."

Adriev then chuckled, but not happily. This was not supreme enjoyment. This was teaching a lesson.

"You have five minutes. Good luck."

Platinum/Silver

As the members of the two teams continued to talk, a voice resounded through the room. Adriev's...

"Hope you all are enjoying your cute little respite. Be sure to know who your friends are. In one minute your break ends, and I hope you aren't attached to your friendship."

Iron

The sound of moving gas was heard throughout the chamber. A light green/purplish gas spread through the room slowly.

"This is my personal concoction." Adriev's voice returned. "Slow...painful stuff. If you don't pick someone and open that door right now I will kill you all, and I will do it gladly."

Kamyn

The Sky Lightning did not escape Adriev's view.

"Efenton, Vortimer, Griver. Be careful, but engage Ryu immediately. We end him now or he causes more trouble. Don't bother to regroup beforehand, just attack him on sight now." Each of the Kamyn on Adriev's side heard.

Then it was Ryu's mind Adriev's voice entered.

"You are making a foolish foolish mistake Ryu. Return now and your punishment will be non-life-ending. Otherwise I shall afford your traitorous hide no mercy."

Upon the electricity striking and draining Sandrew, he fell unconcious ahain. If it kept up, he surely would die, at this point he had nothing left to drain but his life energy.

Ferro~~~~~

The bolts crackled through Ferro, forcing grunts out of him. He could feel Chips, Birgitte, and Vell slipping away from him, turning into normal pieces of equipment. "Sandrew!" he gasped as the boy fell from the shocks. His hands tightened on Birgitte's haft. "What do we do?!" he yelled to the others. "Who will step out?!" In the back of his mind, Ferro wondered what would happen if all five chose to step out. . . But Sandrew was unconscious. . .
