At four points around the mountain known as Evraius the Teragren captains went over the situation once more to be sure there was no confusion; this was a volunteer mission, there was a high risk of death, and once the climbers passed the Teragen gates onto the premises of Evraius they were no longer under the protection of the Teragren army, and nobody would help but the rest of their team members.Of the 19 volunteers that passed the test to be accepted into the Evraius mission there were now four teams, each of 4 or 5 people. The army had brought them to the four gates that separated Evraius from the Kingdom of Teragren. The strategy was that they may be more effective if they could split the Kamyn attention and thus have a better survival rate. Now the four teams sat at their respective gates, facing the world changing mountain that would be their future; Evraius. The teams were split up in the following ways:Gold Team, made up of Drale Vay, Amber Dolor, Cornelius Bastion, and Sandrew.Silver Team, made up of Sonya Bishop, Kinzoku Mors, Averain, and Jasper SummersIron Team, made up of Alice Thornsberry, Emert Berger, Morgan Etiam Vinctum, and Doctor Pellinore WartropPlatinum Team, made up of Apollo, Lance Alburght, Varion Hain, Fairy, Aya Kozakura, Sairi KozakuraEach of the gates rumbled opened painfully and slowly, with a history of destruction and cruelty beyond their metal bars."Okay." Each captain spoke to the respective teams as they mounted their horses once again and steered back toward the road."You all have 5 minutes to greet your new teammates and enter the gates. The magical locks will automatically close them again after that point. There won't be any returning until you have something substantial to return with." The gist of each captain's parting words were. They had all rehearsed together so the information would be similar for each group. It also helped mask the fear. And then each group was left alone, each with a gate and a beaten dirt path beyond it sitting before them. It was time to start the introductions and get going. It was time to start the climb.Watching every gate through spectral projections, Adriev pondered. He stood in a pure white room with 5 others. After watching the four teams for a few moments he turned to his peers: Efenton, Girver, Dante, and Vortimer. Only one was missing."So..." He spoke slowly, weighing every word. "What shall we do about this?"

Blinking like he was trying to get sleep out of his eyes, Cornelius eyed the other two teams.

"So much for splitting up." He murmured.

He glanced back at Ferro.

"Or a rest."

The Young Researcher's attention was then fixed on Efenton. Whatever the game was here, it was going to be good.

"First, can you tell us exactly what it does?" He asked.

Blinking like he was trying to get sleep out of his eyes, Cornelius walked over to the button and examined it.

"So, they decide to give us a button." He mused to himself. "Intriguing."

He straightened up and looked to Ferro.

"I agree, but we need to be ready to move in case the Kamyn take an interest in us again."

Kamyn

Adriev scoffed.

"Prepare yourself then fool. Take as much time as you wish. You precious humans are all dying in the meantime..."

Silver/Platinum

The door slammed shut, and behind it the floor Kinzoku stood on dropped out, sending her into darkness... into the unknown.

On the other side of the door, the ever-smaller group gathered in a small white room with strange screens adoring the walls. In the center was a button. The side of the room suddenly opened up though, to reveal the Gold group, standing in a room of identical size... just on the other side.

Gold

Tired out, the team still remained alone with the button. The only way forwards, or backwards.... Towards life.... or death.

Then the wall opened up, showing Silver and Platinum teams... what remained of them, on the other side.

The button on Gold team's side slid back into the ground, and Silver/Platinum's slide to the center of the new room both teams now stood in...

Someone.... something.... was coming to them though.

Efenton stepped in front of the group, looking at the groups. "I am Efenton. Son of Adriev." He sat down in front of the buttons . "I am the trial for these..." he showed the buttons. "Your trial..." He said.taking off his cap. "Is to talk..." He said, "Persuade me to press these buttons." He looked at them. "If I die, these buttons wont work, and you will be trapped. Forever."

(ah! Good point.)

"It contains a recording..."  He said, looking at him. "Further knowledge of Us is inside." He looked at them. "May I ask you all a question?"  He said, looking at all the groups there. "What Is it you desire?" He said. "And...What Do you believe is the treasure?"  He pointed his two fingers at them. "You must send me two people from each group. If you answer in a way that i see fit, truly worthy for the information of the gods." He said, looking at them. "If not..." he said. "No second chances..."

Tristan looked to Efenton as he held a tight grip on the hilt of his blade (so he's the son of one of the Kamyn guess that makes him a Kamyn as well hum i wonder) quickly analyzing the situation at hand Tristan questioned Efenton "Alright Efenton if you want two people from each group that means you'll be getting two from each group two from Platinum two from Silver and two from them" Turning his gaze from Efenton to Jasper Tristan spoke "Jasper with Kinzoku gone and Lance still out cold were the only two left to go forward for Silver you okay with that"

Ferro~~~~~

Ferro stepped forward from the Gold group after making sure Sandrew was comfortable on the floor. "I'll be one to answer for my group, the Gold group. Chips, would you sum it up for me." A happy vibe preceded Chips's exclaimation: "Adventure!" Ferro smiled, and said, "Me and my buddies, my artifacts, if you will, have no other purpose than to explore. We came to this mountain because it was here. Actually finding something worth the trek would be just a happy coincidence, and we've made new friends on the way." Something I'd never think I would do, he thought to himself.

Drale steps up, next to Ferro. "And I shall be the second to speak for Gold Team." he said, staring directly at Efton. "Now, would you like me to go next, or someone from Platinum or Silver team?" He asked, looking as if he was ready to convince Efton. He then put his hand into his pocket, and grabbed his watch tightly, to calm himself.

"You  may go..." He said, looking at the both of them, he could see a bit of a difference. "Team by team seems good..." He said. He wondered why In dire situations, friendships were made quickly....

"If you insist." Drale said, taking a deep breath, "So, you want me to convince you that you should press the button, correct? Simple. You want to press the button as much as we do, if my logic is correct. And I'm sure it is." he said, with a slightly smug tone in his voice. "To explain my logic, you are the son of Adriev. By all means, this would make you our enemy. But I don't think you are. Why? Simple. If you were our enemy, you would have never offered to press the button. In fact, if you were our enemy, you would have tried to kill us. By offering to press the button, which contains valuable information on Kamyn, which we could very easily use to our advantage, you have proved to be, at the very least, our ally. In conclusion, you must be our ally, and you want to press the button. If my logic is flawed, please inform me." Drale finished, still clutching his watch. (How was that? Not the best, but I like it.)

"You reason is Valid.." He said. "But...I know whats in here. Who's to say I'm lying to you, and there is nothing in there that you have already figured out? I am the son of Adriev, after all..." He said. "And I may be taking vengeance at a previous encounter. How do you know I wont kill you. You know not of the power I hold." He nodded. "And You forgot..." Efenton cracked his neck. "To answer my questions."

Stepping forward with a tight grip on his blade Tristan looked to Efenton "We forgot to answer your question you say then how about i answer it now what is it i desire that answers simple for every last one of the Kamyn's heads to roll once i slice them with this blade of mine as for the treasure i could care less about any treasure I came to this mountain with aim and one aim alone and that is to put an end to the Kamyn's rain of terror i could care less about that button or you whether your a half Kamyn or a full one if your anything like your father you'll meet the same end i have planned for him by the way attack me now if you want but I'll warn you in advance my sword this sword i hold in my hand was forged specifically to fight against the Kamyn's its a blade that can both cut through and render any magic it slices useless and its unime to any and all magics that might target it before this blade any magic a Kamyn might have up there sleeve is rendered useless by the way try and seal us in here and I'll just smash my way out don't under estimate Humans we have more power then you could ever imagine"

"If you were lying to us, you are putting yourself at great risk. Assuming that once you press the button, the door opens, and if the recording is something we already know, and if we no longer need you, it's perfectly possible that your life would be in danger. You are extremely out numbered. And I do apologise about your questions. Let me answer them now. You want to know what I desire? I desire two things. One, the secret of this watch." Drale said, pulling out his watch, "and two, knowledge of the Kamyn. And in regards to your second question, I know nothing of any treasure. Does this satisfy you?"

Varron:

He frowned. So their next challenge wasn't exactly a fight or some trap....but essentially a game of who can come up with an answer to please a god? Varron hated these sort of things. Like the Sphinx, one had to simply provide a suitable answer. Answering wrong or impartially lead to death.

"If no one else will volunteer for our team, I'll go ahead and do it. I might be able to come up with something..."

Besides, if I die...well...nevermind. Don't think about it, Varron.

Emert:

Emert glared at the Kamyn. This was....getting out of hand. The girl turned Kamyn was now becoming too much of a nuisance, and the man named Griver wasn't much help either. They all seemed focused on the Doctor and Cathos, however.

Emert stayed silent for the moment, gripping his swords as he glanced between the Kamyn. He just needed the opening to strike...but what would even work against these damn things...

He looked at Tristain, and sighed. "Absolute power corrupts absolute."  He said. "The treasure room inside is vast and many treasures reside in there..And Inside...." He stopped. "That watch...."  He analyzed it. He looked at at the destruction, the bodies that wanted to kill him. "Very well...  You've called  a bit of my bluff." He looked at the group of people." We arent so different, you and i. I hate him...What he has done to you....He looked around. "Where you are now, is free from his gaze... He'll assume I take my time in killing you...." He got up. "Time and time again, people who have come here have never proven themselves capable of handling the power to stop him, much less, rule the world without us.... "  he looked up, and thought of...there it was. "He who fights monsters should be careful, lest he become one himself..."He then sat down. "So...I must judge you. My view of the world is not clouded by greed, lust, or power, like the others. I Alone, am the one who can determine If you can handle the treasures..." he said, "And whats in the recording..."

Amber and Jasper

After a little while, Amber was able to clam herself down from the last encounter, and face the next one. She was considering pressing the button when the wall slid open, revealing some of the other climbers. Once the Kamyn appeared and stated his challenge, Amber decided to keep silent, and let her friends handle this. She was never very good at saying the right thing.

Jasper, on the other hand, knew he didn't have much of a choice. He was still angry at himself at not being able to save Kinzuko, thus bringing their team down to him and Tristan. However, that meant that he would have to speak up now. Otherwise, they may never be able to hear the recording. So far, three of the required six people have given their answers, and he was pretty sure none of them were good enough. It didn't take Jasper long to realize what he needed to say to convince this guy. He needed to say the truth.

"I can't speak for the others, as every man has their motive for doing what it is they do, but I can speak for myself." Jasper began, "When I was just a boy, my father was convicted and executed for crimes he'd never committed. He'd spent his entire life trying to help other, but because he was an eccentric, and the one who wanted him gone was such an impressive liar, the masses still believed he was guilty. The day of his execution, I realized a powerful truth. Most people are paranoid, narrow minded individuals who'll believe whatever their fears cause them to believe, with little to no evidence supporting it. This world needs more people willing to look at all the facts they can find, instead of jumping to conclusions. Otherwise, they will doom themselves. Almost everyone believes that you Kamyn are all evil and dangerous, and need to be destroyed in order for humanity to be safe, and they may be right. But I need to know. I need to know if your actions are justifiable. I need to know if there's something bigger going on than most of my race realizes. And if you're in fact as evil and dangerous as most people think, they I'll stop at nothing to defeat all of you. So you see, my desire is to do what's best for the human race, whether it's what they believe is best or not, and the treasre, is truth." Jasper then looked up at the Kamyn and awaited his response.

Sanya didn't see it coming. The mental thrust sent her back in an almost comedic backflip. But her back hit the end of the spear.

Blood sprayed the ground as the new Kamyn was wounded. Her body hadn't acclimated and been altered to the correct durability upon her ascension, and well...none of her familiars were healers.

This would was deep. She wasn't going to be useful at all. So, as she fell, Rai appeared as a human, catching her. The other familiars appeared, fire and ice, wind and earth mixing into this wave of earth and ice which was on fire with a hurricane. It was all aimed at Cathos.

Rai and Sanya melted into the ground. The familiars followed, leaving Griver to face Iron team.

(is Sanya with us, oath?)
