At four points around the mountain known as Evraius the Teragren captains went over the situation once more to be sure there was no confusion; this was a volunteer mission, there was a high risk of death, and once the climbers passed the Teragen gates onto the premises of Evraius they were no longer under the protection of the Teragren army, and nobody would help but the rest of their team members.Of the 19 volunteers that passed the test to be accepted into the Evraius mission there were now four teams, each of 4 or 5 people. The army had brought them to the four gates that separated Evraius from the Kingdom of Teragren. The strategy was that they may be more effective if they could split the Kamyn attention and thus have a better survival rate. Now the four teams sat at their respective gates, facing the world changing mountain that would be their future; Evraius. The teams were split up in the following ways:Gold Team, made up of Drale Vay, Amber Dolor, Cornelius Bastion, and Sandrew.Silver Team, made up of Sonya Bishop, Kinzoku Mors, Averain, and Jasper SummersIron Team, made up of Alice Thornsberry, Emert Berger, Morgan Etiam Vinctum, and Doctor Pellinore WartropPlatinum Team, made up of Apollo, Lance Alburght, Varion Hain, Fairy, Aya Kozakura, Sairi KozakuraEach of the gates rumbled opened painfully and slowly, with a history of destruction and cruelty beyond their metal bars."Okay." Each captain spoke to the respective teams as they mounted their horses once again and steered back toward the road."You all have 5 minutes to greet your new teammates and enter the gates. The magical locks will automatically close them again after that point. There won't be any returning until you have something substantial to return with." The gist of each captain's parting words were. They had all rehearsed together so the information would be similar for each group. It also helped mask the fear. And then each group was left alone, each with a gate and a beaten dirt path beyond it sitting before them. It was time to start the introductions and get going. It was time to start the climb.Watching every gate through spectral projections, Adriev pondered. He stood in a pure white room with 5 others. After watching the four teams for a few moments he turned to his peers: Efenton, Girver, Dante, and Vortimer. Only one was missing."So..." He spoke slowly, weighing every word. "What shall we do about this?"

"Well... this isn't good," said Drale, obviously. He then ran over to Sandrew, and took a defensive stance next to him. "Is he alright?" He asked Fairy, his worry evident in his voice.

Amber

It took a moment for what had happened to sink in. Not only was she still alive somehow, but the monster looked badly injured. Too excited and relieved at this revelation to ponder what had just happened, Amber gave out another battle cry, and lunged at the fire creature, hoping to give it a crushing final blow.

Suddenly jumping up and yawning Tristan smiled "soz the shipz mozing forz thaz shipz to movez I's guessingz it needz some kindz of power sourcy inz othy wordyz the nanomachineys" Suddenly pulling out his sword and swinging it around in his drunken state Tristan smiled "Mez guessing if wez stops the nanomachineys we stops whatseverz Adrievys up to soz ifz i smashy the corez powery sourcy withz me swordz wez canz stop Adrievys" (Hiccup) "Hahaha wasz thatz a mouthy fullz forz a drunkz orz whats"

(That drunk talk is annoying. It makes my brain hurt xD)

(Huzzah for being able to understand drunken gibberish! Should I have Drale translate? If not, I'll post something else.)

(I understand it... It just irks me...)

(I see. Drunken text can be annoying to read.)

"If I understand his drunken gibberish correctly, if we want to prevent this ship taking off, we need to shut down the nano-machines. Our biggest problem is," he said, pointing to Griever, "is you. No offense," he added, jokingly. "So, all we can do is wait for all the switches to be thrown. Hooray," he said, realizing how bored he'd be waiting. He knew boredom was evil. But he was glad that infernal voice wouldn't appear to bug him, as it never appeared when he was near people.

Sanya had made a pact. And now she appeared behind Adriev, her Mecha form now on display.

"Adriev. It's over. I wont let you launch the Evraius. I wont let you doom humanity. We may be the worst race there ever was, but you have given up on a solution you found flawed. Fear is not salvation. Salvation must be earned through sorrow." Laser swords now shot forth from her gauntlets. "I wont let the Evraius leave."

Sanya charged at Adriev.

Kamyn

"I'm disappointed in you Sanya, you had such promise." Adriev sidestepped quickly as her laser swords tore into one of the control panels. "As long as I have my nanomachines I can beat you, and I can make this ship kill all the pitiful beasts we call humans." He grappled her and leaped across the bridge, slamming them both into a far wall. The control panel that Sanya's blades had cut through started to spark... possibly causing a short circuit elsewhere on the ship.

Adriev jumped back and materialized a huge spinning claw made of blades in his hand.

"You don't want to play this game, Sanya, but if you're insistent, I'm happy to show you how it's played correctly."

Amber

Amber slammed into the fire beast, and in a show of fireworks it dissipated with a huge blast. She'd beaten it. Instead of a key, though, all the walls around her simply reverted back. In fact....

All Teams

All the walls Griver had set up suddenly shut down. The entire room was now everyone left together again.

It seems the fight in the control room had short circuited the room-based nanomachine controls here. The door behind Griver opened up too... leading directly to the nanomachine reactor... and beyond that the control bridge where Adriev was. All the tests were now ended prematurely. There was only the option; to go forward.

Go forward and finish this once and for all...

(That typo though)

Kinzoku had been about to jump forward and hit her switch when... Well, it vanished. Everything did. She was left in a huge open room. With one opponent. Against all of them.... This should be a piece of cake. Kinzoku smiled, and gathered all of her ingot around her.. They stayed in ingot form, hovering around her as Kinzoku contemplated the best possible attack for this situation.

The Doctor altered his attack's course at the last second, so that it wouldn't strike Cornelius. The Doctor quickly dismissed his spear, and brushed his clothing off. "You are quite skilled aren't you, young Bastion? Smart and resourceful too, especially with the lovely companion you have. I am quite glad you caught on to my act. I wasn't certain you would." The Doctor spoke, dropping the act of being mad at Cornelius. It had been but a play, a lie, meant to deceive the Kamyn. And it might have worked, had some more time been given to them. The Doctor was flipping through his book, and scribbling some more notes. "In any case, it seems we have met one of the last hurdles in our path," Warthrop took a second and looked pointedly at Griver. "This should be barely a challenge." Maybe the Doctor would not have to use his last resort after all. This mission had the potential of being dangerous enough to force his hand, but it had not come down to that. Not yet.

The Doctor slammed his book shut, and looked straight towards the opponent. He summoned the Romanian Serpent, and pointed it towards Griver. Understanding his commands, Veronica (a lovely lady indeed, with no real faults... But the Doctor had left her just the same. Did he have an excuse? No. Did he lose sleep over his decision? No. Did she? He had no way of knowing.) struck with lightening speed, biting with a powerful force at the Kamyn, with the wish to sink her long teeth into Griver's flesh. As soon as the attack would have connected, Veronica disappeared, the Doctor instead being right next to Griver. The Doctor struck casually with his spear, stabbing with the pole arm several times within a short span of time. The Doctor flipped back as he summoned his Vukodlak in place of the spear. John struck mercilessly with his razor sharp claws, howling like a wolf as he did so. Then, as soon as he had appeared, John dissipated, and Griver found himself under the assault of several arrows. The arrows sped towards the Kamyn with the Doctor's eagle-eye accuracy. As soon as he had launched his final arrow, the bow vanished, a Phoenix taking it's place. Von Helrung (the Doctor's mentor in monstrumology, Helrung had been more of a father to him than the one linked to him by blood. Sure they had had their disagreements, but overall they remained wonderful friends. That is of course, until Von Helrung had died a gruesome death.) flew for Griver, divebombing the Kamyn, claws going for his opponent's eyes, flames emanating from the bird also intended to burn the Kamyn.

(I apologize for the multitude of attacks, I just anticipated that they'd be batted down with ease by a Kamyn.)

Varion:

Well, certainly a lot had passed. The mountain was a god damn space ship, and everything that Varion had based his science and alchemy on was truly just nanomachines--tiny robots in his body, giving him this special ability. He supposed that was how that other ability was passed on to him--by transferring the machines to his own body.

"This has certainly be a fun adventure." Varion said, doing his usual attempt at a wise-cracking joke.

I'm glad this is soon to be over. And that I got to know the truth behind these gods. More importantly, I now know how they became said gods. My mission here is practically complete.

Varion smiled and glanced at his companions. Once this was over, he'd be sure to kill them all. He couldn't let them live. Orders were orders. They thought him to be an aloof alchemist with a bit of a sociopathic side.

They couldn't be more wrong.

Emert:

For the Judge, he was more than happy to end this venture once and for all. It was high time he returned home, and told his superiors what had transpired here on this damn mountain--no, ship, and tell them the truth. The truth that lay behind the so-called Kaymn, what they believed to be magic, and the truth behind humanity as well. With it, perhaps humanity could rise back to their former glory...and this time, without destroying their home.

And so Emert gripped his dual swords, helmet on, and armor scarred yet still pristine as he glanced around, just as Varion was.

These people have shown themselves to be far more powerful than anyone could imagine. These are the ones who brought down gods. I shall be glad to fight amongst them.

I am banking on the fact that no one knew Varion's allegiance until now. Since I don't know exactly what transpired, I thought I'd throw this twist in myself, right before the big finale.

(Now that was a surprise to read.  Let's see...)

Giving out a few chuckles, Griver responds:  "Who's to say the violence will end once Adriev is gone, assuming everyone together can defeat him?  Sure, there might be a short time of peace, but eventually, humans will find some excuse to slaughter one another.  That's half of the reason I joined Adriev.  To keep the people in line and bring about stability.   Are you serious?  'Love?' I know for a fact that there is not a single person outside of this place who would give something like that to someone like me.  Especially knowing the kind of things I've done over the years.  In fact, they would rather see me dead for it.  I'm sure that's what most of the climbers came here to do.  You say that I am human.  But I stopped being such a thing the moment I killed others and wiped out cities.  I can't imagine ordinary humans coming close to that."

Seeing all of the walls coming down and every  person surviving their tests, Griver put his hands in his pockets, smiled and said:  "You guys are either incredibly fortunate or are very skilled.  You all made it here in one peace.  The doors are open, so you can take on the big boss if you want.  There's no guarantee that you can kill him, but I feel as though you'll try.  But there's one thing you can do now.  You can kill me." Pausing for several minutes after saying that last bit, Griver then says:  "You guys have full permission to kill me.  I won't do anything to fight that.  I know what you're thinking.  'Why am I giving myself up so quick and easy as if nothing happened?" Well I know when I'm beat.  There's no way I can hope to resist against all of you together. That's too much for me to handle. Oh, Efenton, you know what the other half of the reason I joined Adriev?  It's because I'm afraid of him."  Frowning down with disappointment, Griver says:  "I've always been afraid.  Of him and his power.  I was terrified that if I didn't work for him, he'd kill me.  So I went the cowards way out and went with him to save my own hide.  I figure it will be less painful to die by you, the climbers who made it up to here, than by him.  Plus, you have good reasons to kill me, knowing what you know.  So, go on."  Griver gets on his left knee, putting up his arms in surrender.  "Kill me."

(I actually have an idea of how I can revive Sandrew due to this post, thanks.)"W-we..." Sandrew's crumpled body said in a muffled voice. "We won't kill you..." Sandrew coughed up more blood, it was obvious he was going to die soon if not treated with some kind of help. But as he did so, his skin turned to a rusty metal color. "We will trap you..." He raisedtwo metal walls and slammed them onto Griver. He spittered, sparks coming from his skin and theoat, Sandrew switched to his ice form, where snow slowly fell from him and more cracks formed. The ice froze throughout the metal. Hard and solid. He was now nothing more than a statue. Afterwards, Sandrew again became incapacitated, and reverted.(Think like he was trapped in Carbonite, if you would like to think of it like this. If anyone dislikes this idea, I can edit.

(Well Emerald, seeing as how I've barely been posting here and with things rapping up, I thought I'd make a little surprise.)

(Huh.  You're welcome Riki.)

Sanya flew back into the wall, letting out a sharp cry. But no. She would not tive up. Because she was not alone.. She crossed her arms over her shoulders. "Mode change -Freedom's Bell."

Now more mecha then mecha angel, funnels appeared around her. Sanya unleashed a righteous beam spam to end all beam spams upon Adriev. "I don't play your game Adriev. I dont follow your rules. You have threatened the lives of people - people all the AIs of the world have found friends in. You are no god. Nanomachines will not save you. Because I made allies with the entities that control everything. Including the nano generator." Her familiars surrounded her. Cat. Fox. Rabbit. Mermaid. Phoenix. Raiju. Liger. Wolf. Hawk. And the mecha that came behind her. "I make my own rules. And here is a trick only true friendship can forge."

Aryel the Mermaid, Serafine the Phoenix, and Kira the Mech stepped forward, so to speak. For Aryel, the cat and fox merged with her legs while the hawk her back. For Serafine, the Liger became her legs with the rabbit while the Raiju and Wolf, her arms. Kira was at first alone...then from the woodwork it seemed, came four more mechas. From the Evraius itself came her last familiars, and as they combined, Sanya did not stand alone. From Aryel came a trident, Serafine a sword. Kira himself wielded a laser sword and those laser funnels.

"Rule seven - insane ideas always work in a pinch." She charged, her combined familiars behind her all the way, weapons raised and ready to fight.

"Salvation is decided by the people! Not you!"

(Yes. I just made megazords.)

Drale silently observed everything around him, and sighed deeply. He formed his shadow into a sword, and said, "I was afraid it'd come to this. Having to make the choice. No matter how hard a try, I care too deeply for Gold Team now. Funny, isn't it? I... only ever wanted one thing, really. To find out about this watch," here he took a break, pulled the watch out of his pocket, and stared at it. "This accursed watch. And now? I'm forced to choose between my job and my friends. And I can't. So please grant me two requests. The first: Kill me. Quite simple, really. But don't treat me like Griever. I want to die. And two? Open the watch after my death. Call it a dead man's final request," he finished. He took a breath, and added, "Oh, before I forget. If none of you want to kill me... I'll do it myself," so saying, he pointed the sword at his neck.

(Sorry if this seems rushed. I'm tired. Oh and... open the watch. Funny really... Griever was supposed to kill me, not any of you.)

(You had to go and do something like this huh Ultimus? Okay, for the canon, the Doctor's attacks from my last post occur after what Griver has just done. (It all depends on what Ultimus wants, mainly, but I'll change it if he wishes it to go that way)

As Amber gazed at the metal statue now encasing Griver, she couldn't help but feel sorry for him. Sure, he'd done some pretty awful things, but didn't mean he couldn't redeem herself, at least in her eyes. She then heard Drale tell everyone that he wanted someone to kill him, and her heart nearly stopped, "Drale, don't do it." she said, not wanting to lose any of her teammates, especially to suicide, "I get that you want to die, I've felt that way before more than once... and even came close to doing it at one point. But then I realized that no matter how bleak things get, no many people seem to hate you, life is still precious. You never know what's going to happen, even when death seems immanent. I promise Drale, life's worth living, if only to see if it gets better."

Jasper, however, had a different take on the subject. He summoned his sword, and pointed it at Drale, "Look, what you're proposing is stupid and selfish, especially considering we may need you if Adriev shows up, but if you really want to die, fine by me." Jasper said, but then pointed the sword away from Drale, and put it in the man's hand, "Just don't expect any of us to dirty our hands for you. If you want to end your life, you'd better do it yourself." he then waited to see what would happen.

Varion:

Varion sauntered over to Drale, and gave him a cold hard look. His face was twisted into a scowl, and he suddenly spoke up, "And what do you suppose killing yourself is gonna do, huh? That's not gonna redeem yourself. Hell, in some books, that's just gonna land you in even more trouble. You want that? I doubt it. Don't kill yourself, not when we're so close to finishing this."

Varion with a proud arrogance before Drale, a way that commanded to be listened to. Truth be told, he didn't necessarily care if Drale lived or died. At this moment, Varion was in the mindset that he would deal with Drale if need be, anyways.

Drale gave the sword back to Jasper, looked at the three people who had just spoken up, and said, "I'm glad you care this much about me. However, I will say two things, one of which is guaranteed to change your mind. First, if I do remain alive, and we do complete this mission, AND I return safely back, I'll probably be killed. They won't take traitors lightly, I'm sure of it. The irony is almost too much to bear, when you think of it. As for the second, well, what if I told you I might come back? Would that help, in the slightest? All I know for sure is, once I die, and my watch is opened," here he took the watch out again, and flipped it in the air. He caught it, and continued, "Whatever is in it, will come out. But that it requires me to die, for it to be opened, makes me think that it might bring me back. You have no assurance of this, true, but as I have stated multiple times, I have spent an entire year trying to find out what is in this watch. And this, this is my best chance! Because I'm sure at least one of you will open it, just to see. Now..." he trailed off, then once again pulled the watch out of his pocket. He handed it over to Amber, saying, "Take good care of this, and open it later, won't you?" whilst doing so. He then took a step back, summoned his shadow sword, and said, "So, now that you've heard my whole plea, which shall it be? My death, at your hands? Or my suicide? Which weighs heavier on your mind? And don't forget... the watch," he finished, with a bow. He then pointed his sword at his heart, and waited.

"She helped me realize your plan." Cornelius told the Doctor, a bit grudgingly. "

Following the Doctor closely, the Young Researcher and his "brain buddy" about how they were going to proceed. He still wanted her a secret, but Betsy argued that there was no point. They hadn't resolved their differences when they reached another argument.

"How sure are you that your watch will work?" Cornelius asked Drale.

(Love the drunk talk praise the drunk talk okay with that done drunk talk over)

Suddenly jumping to his feet Tristan yawned "Damn that took long enough my Nano's finally burned off the last of the alcohol by the way next person to mention suicide or asks someone to kill them will be getting hit over the head hard by me before you idiots forget we still have one last Kamyn to deal with and he's the strongest one there is do you really think its a smart idea killing off our own numbers before we even have a chance to face Adriev if you want to die during the fight go right ahead but atleast do it after you've hit Adriev with everything you have"
