I know the whole, "hearless come from darkness" "darkness always lingers" thing. But are we really never going to be rid of the hearless/nobodies? That's kind of weird IMO.

That probably will happen in KH3. After the xehanort saga ends, the series will have to make totally different enemies. 

As long as people succumb to the darkness and Heartless are produced from it, the shells of the strong will become Nobodies. It's forever a cycle. 

Sora has already killed over 10 million in the KH series. I do kinda think heartless will keep on coming. It is kinda weird to, but the Dark Seeker saga ends at KH3 so maybe heartless will stop coming at KH3.

Well, if Sora/the GoL and the Princesses manage to banish all Heartless to the realm of Darkness then maybe they'll stop coming. Like Yen Sid said "But the Heartless are darkness made real. So long as darkness exists in a single heart, it will be difficult to eliminate them". Difficult, but not impossible it seems.

I doubt that Heartless will be extinguished because of the simple fact that people will always have darkness in their hearts, and no matter how much you try otherwise, not everyone will have a heart of pure light, so the Heartless will always prowl the worlds, but after Kingdom Hearts 3, I imagine they'll dwindle in number.

Heartless and Nobodies will exist 'till there will be humans in the world. But with the end of Xehanort they may calm down a bit

I don't think they'll ever get rid of the heartless for good.

As long as there is darkness, the Heartless can continue to exist, and darkness is a necessary element to the world

That kind of confuses me a little, because Ansem the Wise stated that the rapid spread of Heartless to other worlds was a result of his research falling into the wrong hands, but it seems to me that the Heartless themselves have been around for man, many years. Maybe in the end, they''ll all be locked-up in the Realm of Darkness forever......or at least, until the next villain comes along.

Personally, I don't think so. Darkness has been an always lingering force for many, many years now and since there are many, MANY people in the KH universe and a lot of them will succumb to Darkness at some point and due to the pretty much permanent damage to the balance of Heartless done by Xehanort's experiments, I don't think we'll be waving good by to the Heartless or the Nobodies any time soon. 

If were to ever be rid of the heartless/nobodies, then we would have a serious lack of canon fodder.
