This is something that a lot, and I mean a lot, of people have discussed in the past. However, you might find my reasoning for it to be a little different. Especially considering that I am nowhere near a hardcore Final Fantasy fan.

 

So in the Kingdom Hearts series, we've seen FF characters make cameos, characters like Squall (Leon), Yuffie, Aerith, Cid, Cloud, Sephiroth, Tifa, and the Gullwings (Zack's dead so I won't include him in here). Most of these characters originate from the world Radiant Garden, as their original homes in the FF series don't exist in Kingdom Hearts because... well, it's Kingdom Hearts, not Final Fantasy, that's why.

 

HOWEVER, three of these characters can be said to NOT originate from Radiant Garden, or any other known world for that matter. These characters are Cloud, Sephiroth, and Tifa. It's never outright stated what world they call home; they pop up in Radiant Garden in KHII (and before that, Cloud and Sephiroth made some appearances in Olympus Coliseum), but that's just it: they pop up. They don't live there nor confirmed they have ever lived there.

 

Also in KHII, we see Cloud and Sephiroth disappear and Tifa supposedly goes off to track them. That's a perfect segue to introduce their original world, in that of Nibelheim, the village where Cloud, Sephiroth and Tifa originated from in the FF series, if this storyline were to be expanded on in KHIII.

 

Also, I'd like to bring up that the appearance of TWEWY cast in Dream Drop Distance, with Neku's last words to Sora being "See you in Shibuya" supports my case. After all, if we can have one world based on another SE property, why not two?

you're totally right i support you're theory 100 fold i hope we get to have a final fantasy world because kh is suppose to be half final fantasy as well.

Hmm...I had always been dubious about a FFVII world, since the inclusion of some of its characters as natives of Radiant Garden, though simply focusing on Nibelhiem could work, I suppose.

Midgar could be a world in a future Kingdom Hearts game. I'd totally want them to do a game where the main story is Shinra Corp and Gandrake Enterprises (Samurai Legend Musashi) acting in conspiracy for universal domination. Now that would be something.

You might be right. But like I said, we've been given zero information on the backgrounds/homeworlds of Cloud, Sephiroth, and Tifa in the Kingdom Hearts universe, so its still a possibility.

I'm pretty sure it was explained that they all lived in Radiant Garden and escaped to Traverse Town with Cid on a Gummi Ship when the Heartless attacked.

It's never outright stated they live in RD, you're right, though I think it's pretty likely. Then again, we've got the likes of Tidus, Wakka and Selphie living in Destiny Islands and Seifer, Fuu and Rai living in Twilight Town, so who knows? Food for thought, I guess. I doubt they'll ever explain it, though maybe it'll be something brought up in KHIII.

 

I think it's likely, though, that they originate from RD for the reason that Zack Fair was able to come to Olympus Coliseum in BBS. No other world besides Disney Castle and The Land of Departure shows any ability to traverse the worlds. Pretty sure Zack didn't come from either of those two places, and I'm 100% sure that Cloud, Tifa and Sephiroth live in the same world as Zack. Again, it could easily be explained that they just come from another world capable of space travel, but I find that a little hard to believe.

 

EDIT: Also, I wanted to bring up the fact that Cloud clearly has a past relationship to the other FF characters. (Just listen to Cloud and Squall's short conversation during The Battle of 1000 Heartless or observe Aerith's reaction to seeing Cloud show up in the Hollow Bastion Library during the end credits of KHI. Which, by the way, raises the question of WHY Cloud would even show up at Hollow Bastion at the end of KHI if not because he has some ties to it.) You could argue that they met together in Traverse Town when their respective worlds vanished, but I think it makes more sense if they all left together from the same world.

Problem with a FF world? THEY'RE TOO BIG. The most likely would be VII's world and Spira. But Spira in particular is massive.

I love how people only think of the worlds that are blatant fanservice... I like FFVII, but we don't need it in KHIII as a world.

 

What WOULD fit? Baron. FFIV;s world would be PERFECT for KHIII. A lot of the themes in KH came from FFIV (Light vs Dark, Betrayal, Redemption, etc.). In fact, Riku's pretty much a clone of Kain Highwind. I honestly think any world other than Baron would just be fanservice, and FFIV could actually have a much deeper plot.

Lots of FF characters are residents to Kingdom hearts worlds... BUT, FFXII (Which i hate so much.. almost as much as XIII) but XII doesn't really have a small area that could be explored.. so if they make some FFXII characters residents to KH worlds... they still have a HUGE amount  land to explore...

That world was Radiant Garden. : That's why he showed up there at the end of KHI, and why he lives there in KHII.

Hmmm. A Final Fantasy World world be fine, nothing needed, but it would be nice...

I use the term "die" loosely, but that's pretty much what happened. Check the ending credits of Birth By Sleep. It shows Zack in Olympus Coliseum disappearing after a black feather shows up, and a black feather then takes his place where he was standing (the black feathers allude to Sephiroth).
