First of all, why did Ansem (the heartless) have not his body? It's because of the time travel?Didn't Ansem do the same thing Xehanort did with Terra in BBS? If that's true, why did Riku appear in the realm of darkness?

probably because ansem is already a heartless

Ansem stole Riku's physical body bc as a heartless he didn't have a physical body . Riku eventually got control of his body back after everything was said and done though

Yeah, I think the answer is what Flaming Lea said, plus an important difference is that Master Xehanort used his keyblade to remove his heart and possess Terra while Ansem SoD overcame Riku's heart with Darkness and possessed him through this weakness, kicking Riku out of his body and into the Realm of Darkness.

"Ansem" WAS Xehanort's heartless . Heartless do not have a real body , do they?  The so called "Ansem" possessed Riku's body to complete his plans .

I honestly believe that there's something suspicious going on with Ansem SoD. As a matter of fact, I don't even think he's a Heartless anymore. It's pure speculation, but here's why I think this: first of all, did you notice that at the end of DDD, after Riku defeats him for the last time, he appears in the White Room with his Heartless sigil gone? Out of all his forms, that thing was NEVER missing, not even when he was shirtless. Second of all, they say that wearing the black coat keeps the Darkness from devouring you as you travel through it, right? So if he is still a Heartless, why does he suddenly need the coat at the end of DDD? If he was still a true being of the Darkness, he wouldn't need it  would he? During their fight, Riku said he would try to make him part of the Light, and then Ansem responds with "You can try." You know what I think? I think Riku may have finally succeeded... or at least,  half-succeeded. Come on, if Nobodies can grow hearts, whose to say a heartless can't grow one?  There's just something so weird about it all........ I smell a plot twist coming.

Of course, Nobodies growing hearts defeated the entire purpose of being Nobodies, so sure, why not?

He lost his body because he used Time Travel and went to the past. Then he "stole" Riku's body and regain his "own" body.

That would defeat the entire concept of being Heartless.

I know it would. But in order to have a heart, you must have a sense of self and Ansem SoD definitely has that. He's the only Heartless who can actually think, speak, and reason on his own. That's why I think him having a heart is going to be one of the many plot twists of KH3.

Nobodies keep the bodies and soul but heartless keep the hearts remember?
