Hyrule Warriors Baton Trailer and Complaint

Posted

So Nintendo just released this new trailer showing off Zelda and her BATON in Hyrule Warriors.

Now my complaint isn't with the video, it's with the people in the comments of the video. They keep on saying it's the Wind Waker but it's not. Two attacks from the trailer shows wind attacks and they automatically say it's the Wind Waker. It's like they don't know what a baton is. The Wind Waker IS a baton! She's also using music and fairies with her attacks.

This is a comment from the video

Baton... Baton!?
...
...
BATON!!?!?! How dare you insult us hardcore Wind Waker fans Nintendo!
I gave you 12 years of paying for your stuff and this is how you repay me!?
(Srsly though, name it right.)

I just feel bad for them.

Very few of the people I've sen who are excited for this game have never played a warriors game. Warriors games have little variety, and are repetitive and boring. This will be a waste of money.

They're obviously not fans of Kingdom Hearts, otherwise they'd be raging about every character and their grandmother getting a Keyblade

Touché

So, is your complaint that they're calling this baton the Wind Waker or that the fans don't realize that the Wind Waker is a baton?

Anyway, The Silicon Era article calls it the Wind Waker so that's what I'm going with.

The Wind Waker is a baton called "The Wind Waker".

Yeah seriously, you can even see it from the trailers. All the enemies just gather around waiting to get killed. I've played a few hours of one of the Warriors games and it stops being fun pretty quickly. Not to mention, the Zelda characters seem overpowered compared to standard Warriors characters but maybe they might make it more enjoyable than the others...maybe.

Boy you haven't seen the stupid complaints that the Smash Bros community makes

I agree.  I thought it looked neat from the first trailer (not knowing that there even is a warrior series (and didn't for months) assuming it was an original spin off)  but the more game play I watch I feel it'd be very easy to get bored with.

Watch enemies surround you

Pull off pretty looking AoE attack

Repeat

If you look at the baton, it is eerily similar to the Wind Waker in design, and in the way it flows with the manuver and the tones that are played when the attacks go off. That's just my two cents.

It is the Wind Waker, doesn't mean you can't call it a baton, considering that's exactly what the Wind Waker is. Then again, it may just be called that because they have plans for the real Wind Waker to be used as Toon Link's special/musou when and if they show him off. Also, they way you put it, makes it seem like you're trying to be superior over those who just want it to say Wind Waker instead. To be honest, complaining about someone complaining is the worst possible thing you can do in this situation.

It's made for people who enjoy that type of gameplay. It's not a waste of money in that sense.

I own 7 Xtreme Legends. I'm not playing it for the story here, but I've found enjoyment in the amazing Rock soundtrack and hack n' slash gameplay. I understand that it's repetitive, but that's cool.
