Yeah but this can't always be used as an excuse as I've seen other fan filimsindie films that look much better than this.

 

Have you ever looked at the Akira Fan made live action trailer?It looked so freakin amazing and despite it being short it has way more production value than the entire Sonic Fan film which....even if we ignored the production,barely has anything

 

Heck the upcoming Angry Video Game Nerd fan movie can be considered as a fanindie movie and it looks much better than this despite what one might thinking from watching AVGN episodes

You know, some people take for granted how hard building a 3D movie is. It still takes a TON of money, many, many staff members, and even, no  especially dedication. Have you seen how much decent Game Engines and Animation software is worth? Live action movies, with their little behind-the-scenes effects (which, don't get me wrong, are totally awesome) are nothing compared to the work it takes to build a 3D anything from the ground-up. There's no way in hell that this production "barely has anything".

I feel like I agree with this.I feel like the Sonic Fan Film could've been better, given the amount of support it had. The story was bland, and while the cameos were interesting, they were pointless. Brentalfloss, Nostalgia Critic, Jaleel White... They should've focused more on story content.

Exactly,they focused a bit too much on throwing as much cameos as possible to hide certain problems with the shading,sound effects and models

 

 

And I will refer again to the AKIRA fan made live action trailer....it has less staff and less actors to work with yet it turned out billion times better than the Sonic Fan Film

It was pretty mediocre. Kind of like the sonic fan film by blue core studios.

Except that actually had production values rather than being a Sonic Generations mod.
