For the most part in the Kingdom Hearts story, I've been able to take everything with a grain of salt and understand the sometimes convoluted and massively in-depth happenings and occurrences that have gone on, even the whole deal with the True Organization. However, after going over some cutscenes in DDD, there's one little itsy-bitsy detail in the story that I can't wrap my head around.

Alright, so in the very first game, we established that Traverse Town, third world introduced to the series (After Destiny Islands and Disney Castle) is a world created for the sole purpose of giving a safe haven to hearts whose worlds were lost to Darkness.

In DDD, its revealed that Traverse Town can be entered as a Sleeping World in the Realm of Sleep, thanks to Sora and Riku visiting it on the day that it was to be thrown into the Realm of Darkness back in KHI.

So tell me this: in the end of DDD, we see Sora entering Traverse Town again to meet up with his Dream Eater buddies... even though Dream Eaters only exist in the Realm of Sleep... and the normal Traverse Town is part of the Realm Between, right?  And Sora isn't wearing his DDD garb which means he's awake and not asleep, so he can't even really enter the Realm of Sleep at all... I mean, even if he did, he'd appear the way he did during the Mark of Mastery Exam right? Could the Dream Eaters even go beyond the Realm of Sleep and into the Realm Between or even the Realm of Light or Darkness? Aren't they confined to only one dimension? Or maybe Sora went to the normal version, fell asleep again, and entered the Dream version? Or did he manipulate his dreams so that the Dream Eaters could enter the Realm Between???

Bottom line: I am confused out of my bleeping mind.

So tell me, oh wise and helpful members of KH13, just what is going on here? For the life of me, I can't figure this out. X_X

1) Traverse Town is in the Realm Between.

2) IIRC, Traverse Town hadn't woken up just yet.

At the end of DDD Sora was indeed in the Realm of Sleep. Nomura specifically added that scene to display Sora's newly awakened ability to open portals to the Realm of Sleep. Remember the only reason Sora and Riku appeared in their younger forms whilst in the RoS was because Yen Sid used his magic to alter their forms. So Sora being in his KH2 garb is simply because Yen Sid's magic is no longer in play. Also the Traverse Town in DDD was called into the RoS by Joshua as a means to house the remnants of Neku and the gang. He was surprised to find that over time the dreams of his friends took form and Joshua hoped that it was a means to revive them so he could take them back to their home world. The fact that Traverse Town is still in the RoS suggests that Neku and the gang still need to finish their mission.

This for the most part, although the clothes change was due to Young Xehanort's interaction, if I'm not mistaken. They placed that clothing on him so they can track him, through the Recusant's Sigil.

You're overcomplicating it. There's basically a "real" Traverse Town and a "dream" Traverse Town. It was created by Joshua using Hope's dream as their world was dying or something like that and she was probably hoping for a safe place to be, so it's natural that the form of the dream would be Traverse Town. Either that, or Traverse Town naturally has a dream component to it where it can basically house two dimensions at once without ever having them interact with eachother. It needs to serve as a safe haven for those who have lost their worlds, no matter where they came from. It's probably just there for special loophole cases like Neku and the others.

Either way, regardless of the town's true nature, the fact is that Sora returned to THE DREAM VERSION OF TRAVERSE TOWN, NOT THE REAL ONE. That's why the Dream Eaters were able to appear, and Sora was in his regular clothes because he wasn't being used by the Organization anymore. Or he wasn't using Yen Sid's magic. Or he simply willed it to be so because it's a dream and screw logic! The point is that Sora returned to the dream Traverse Town to reunite with his Dream Eater friends. End of story. It's not that complicated.

Well, gee, thanks for making me feel like an idiot, unlike everybody else here who were kind enough not to put me on blast. -_-

Traverse Town alters its nature according to the needs of its inhabitants. If it needs to be a Sleeping World, it's that. If it needs to be some weird hybrid-type world, done. Simple.

Actually the Organization only placed the Recusant Sigil ( The X) on Sora's outfit the rest was Yen Sid's magic.

Firaga's response is perfectly justified unless he read the interviews. Traverse Town is an in between world meaning it can exist in multiple realms at the same time. The in game canon doesn't differentiate whether or not Sora was awake or asllep in the ending Nomura only elaborates this in interviews.

Nobody is calling you an idiot. I just said that you were reading a little too deeply into the scene.

Next time, word it differently. And don't use caps lock..

I rarely ever use capslock, I only cap my words to emphasize my point. Sorry if it bugs you, but it's not like I said my whole comment in all caps. That would just be irritating and pointless. And again, I'm sorry it came across as an insult.

Using italics is a much better option. But anyways, I accept your apology.
