That moment, the first time you stumble upon some "interesting" pictures or fanfiction of one of your favorite fandoms, and your brain either breaks or you go "Oooh," or some odd blend of the two. In any case, you never forget your first time. I'm curious to know what fandom the picture/fic belonged to, and what your reaction was. I'm sure it'll make for some cheap, horrifying, and/or sexy laughs.
Don't actually post or link anything (obviously). Don't even describe what you saw. Seriously, the more details you leave out, the less likely anything will get deleted. DC has already been doing some, ahem, cleanup of the less savory threads out there. Just mention what fandom it is, how you stumbled upon it (if you feel it's appropriate to mention), and your reaction.
I'll start! I'm not entirely sure but my first 34 might've been an Ed, Edd, n' Eddy lemon between Eddy and Nazz. I might've found it hunting for fanfics, since this was before I discovered FF.net. Because of this, the fic was obviously exempt from quality control--and considering FF.net barely has quality control to begin with, that's terrifying. God, it was so bad, both as an EEnE fanfic and as a story in general. I hadn't realized how bad it was at the time, me being an oh-so-innocent 12 year old first starting out on teh interwebz.
It's been ages since I read it and I'm not inclined to hunt for it, if it even still exists, but I think my reaction boiled down to, "Huh. I didn't know this was a thing." And since I didn't know any better about certain... mechanics (I got The Talk a bit later in the game than other kids), I hadn't realized the fic, from what I remember, had no idea about those mechanics, either. I'm pretty sure it was written by another 12 year old. It'd explain a lot.
Huh. I guess in Rule 34 trauma I got off easy.
I hope the Powers That Be do not pass their judgment upon this thread.
