They were good, but it ends a bit quickly: there was a rumour of it being a full fledged series, and not just a duology, but whatever. We only got two, whatever the truth is.

True. It added a lot to the film. The single thing I didn't like was a minor character only in it for slapstick, and bald jokes. (No spoilers)

Why the manga's, and not the game?

Corpse Party was produced by Xseed, I know that. 

 

Yeah, a two volume one. It just recaps the film, with some added scenes. Nothing major. It's not a whole new story or sequel. 

Speaking of Corpse Party article came out recently saying that Dead Patient Chapter 2 is coming out in 2017

 

So there's some actual faith that the series is not dead and is returning.
