You know what I actually enjoyed iin the 5th Gen Pokemon games? The story. I mean holy crap never before have I cared for the storyline in a Pokemon game because usually it's always "collect all gym badges, beat the elite four, than defeat the champion". But man when I first played Pokemon Black/White that all changed which was a HUGE shocker to me. I mean the gym leaders ACTUALLY getting involved with what's going on in the region, the character development from your rivals (and from all the other characters in the game), and the end where you were about to fight the Pokemon champion. I have to say, even though Pokemon Gen 5 didn't have the best Pokemon, the plot greatly made up for it. And I loved the music in that game too (which got A LOT better in the sequel btw).
But I must admit though, I was a bit dissapointed with Pokemon X/Y's story. To me, it took two steps back. Lysandre was somewhat dissapointing kind of. I mean sure he wanted mass genicide but that's kinda been done already. Plus the way he went about it was minda meh tbh. His goal could have been great if they expanded upon his character in some kind of way. But they did have some missed opportunities with him, same goes for the story. Heck, the whole game was pretty much a prototype to test out their new engine so it's kind of obvious why the story wasn't as great. Not saying the X/Y was bad but I wish the story was a bit better. I was hoping that it would exceed Black/White's story. But hey, that's just me. I'm sure everyone else here had different expectations.
